Immediately following the cere-

the Albany high school and has

The bridegroom in a 1944 grad-
nate of Abilene high school and en-
tered the Navy in 1945, serving
far 14 months. Ho is now attend-
ing McMurry in Abilene as a sen-
ior.

Officers of the Woman's Mis-
sionary Society of the First Baptist
church were installed in a service
conducted by Mrs. J. Carter Kini?
at the church Monday following a
covered dish luncheon. Mrs. King
used the key theme, presenting
each officer the key to her office
and a verse of scripture as key-
verse for the year.
Mrs. A. H. Thurman took office
as president; Mrs. L. H. McAden,
Mrs. J. H. Reynolds, Mrs. Leo
Welch and Mrs. Harve Nixon as
vice-president and circle leaders of
the Joseph Underwood, May Belle
Taylor and Blanche Rose Walker
and Business Women's circles;
Mrs. J. J. Mayes, secretary; Mrs.
W. J. Dodson, treasurer; Mrs. Josh
Thompson, mission chairman; Mrs.
C. C. We.st, benevolence; Mrs. B.
F. Stafford, stewardship; Mrs. R.
G. Murrie, Bible; Mrs. G, B. King,
community missions; Mrs. J. Car-

Miss Hawkins Talks
to Study Club
Kudora Hawkins of Abilene, di-
rector of home service with the
West Texas Utilities Company,
gave the program for the Albany-
Study club at its meeting Friday
afternoon in the home of Rae Dod-
son. Miss Hawkins spoke on "Pal-
estine in History and Phophecy"
and showed movies of Palestine
and Kg.vpt, giving the principal
cities, industries, customs of the
people and how they live. Miss
Hawkins was introduced by Mrs.
B. W. Wallace, club president.
Miss Dodson. assisted by her
mother, Mrs. W. J. Dodson, serv-
ed a sandwich plate.
Members present were Mrs.
Wallace, Mrs. Charles F. Hemp-
hill, Mrs. T. M. Howie, Mrs. John
Rose, Mrs. W. H. Green, Jr., Mrs.
Carroll Putnam, Mrs. Collier
Moore, Mrs. K. G. Cooper, Mrs. J.
L. Douglas. Mrs. P. H. Williams,
Mrs. Win. F. Jones, Mrs. P. T.
Sears, Mrs. C. K. Hill, Mrs. Harry
Key, Mrs. Cecil Dye, Fronie Claus-

Guests were Kudora Hawkins of
Abilene and Mrs. W. J. Dodson.

will go to Fort Worth Friday and
spend the night with relatives and
will meet their daughter and sis-
ter, Mrs. I. M. Jolly and Mr. Jolly
from Shreveport, La., in Dallas
Saturday and attend the State
Fair.
Nellie Darnell, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Roy B. Darnell of Breck-
enridge, and William G. Moore,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe D. Moore
of Albany, were married Saturday,
Oct. 2, at the home of his cousin,
Mrs. Houston Reeves, and Mr.
Reeves in Albany. Rev. D. K.
Aden, pastor of the First Christian
church, read the double ring cere-
mony at 7 p. m. before an impro-
vised altar decorated with baskets
of white gladioluses and lemon
i leaves and lighted with white
tapers in floor candelabra.
Recorded music, "I Love You
Truly" and "Because," wan played
during the ceremony.
The bride wore a two-piece dress
of dusty rose wool gaberdine with
black accessories. She carried a
white Hihle topped with gardenias
and showered with white satin
! streamers knotted with fern.
Mrs. Reeves, the bride's matron
! of honor, wore a jacket suit of
j continental green wool crepe and a
corsage of red carnations. Houston
Reeves was best man.
The bride is a graduate of
Breckenridge high school and soon
after h. r graduation she was em-
ployed as a junior stenographer
with the Department of Public
Welfare in Breckenridge. She has
been transferred from Brecken-
ridge to the Albany office of the
depart ment.
The bridegroom is a 1945 grad-
uate of Albany high school. He was
discharged January 2.'l, I'.MK, after
two years service in the Navy. He
is employed with Johnson Drilling
Company.
Mr. and Mrs. Moore will live in
the Klmer Smith apartment.
