went to the polls Saturday to vote
in the beer election, which had
been called about the first of JUM.
Final count showed that th#
county stayed "dry" by a vot« of
l.Of.O to 112, or about two and- -
half to one. This is the bigWlt
"dry" majority in the county sine*
the repeal of the IHth amendment.

Mrs Mctiough, 7«, wa injured
at 7 la a. m. Monday when struck
by a car on the Marlin McClana-
ban road near Marlin, where she
made her home with a sister, Mrs.
J, II Holt. The driver of th"' car,
Carlo Hruno, aid he *'a- driving
alone in hi- car en route east going
to the Falls County livestock auc-
tion barn. He said he saw Mrs.
Mctiough standing beside the road
at a mail bo* and apparently he
was watching a car coming from
