stressed the fact that "waterworks
men are professional men and
should conduct themselves as
such." He also stated that "the
men in this profession are respon-
sible for the health of the commu-
nity."
(Jen. R. O. Whittiker, in charge
of the reclamation and protection
of watersheds of Texas, outlined
to the members "Legislation we
hope to have stressed at the next
ession," which is the protection of
both surface and underground wa-
ters. The next meeting will be
held in Moran oil October 25.

The judges and commissioners
went on record Saturday as being
"irrevocably" opposed to have
placed on commissioners courts the
investigation and certification of
applicants for old age assistance.
A resolution to that effect was
adopted at the closing session of
an association convention.
Payment of court reporters' sal-
aries by the state was reaffirmed,
the resolution being made at last
spring's Brownwood convention;
submission of an amendment pro-
viding for four year terms for all
state, county and precinct officers;
and favoring sterilization of habit-
ual criminals and the insane. The
group voted down a resolution
which called for a change in law
providing for registration of auto-
mobiles ill November.

merce luncheon an invitation «u

Public Health Association of Dis-
trict No. 2, which will convene In
