Will Save You the Burden of a
Sales Tax
IF A TREE LEANS TO THE SOUTH.
TO THE SOUTH IT SHALL FALL
WHICH DIRECTION DOES TOM
HUNTER LEAN'
Mr. Hunter leans toward a
sales tax to be placed upon the
people, weight them down with
taxes on everything they buy. Mr.
Hunter would take the ad valor-
em off of the great companies of
this state, put a commodity tax
on their products, and let the
working public pay the com-
pany's taxes.
EXAMPLE:
There are three companies who operate in this coun-
ty that would benefit under the sales tax law to the ex-
tent of $377,500.00 yearly in the State of Texas. This
huge amount would have to be paid by {.he people v. lt >
buy commodities, this law would affect the at! valorem
tax in your own county just on these three companies
alone to the amount of $6000.00.
The people of this state now have an opportunity to
protect their own "cupboards' by sending to the Gover-
nor's office a man who proposes to at; just the tax situa-
tion by leaving the ad valorem tax, and not burdening
the people writh the sales tax.
