Harkins Speaks
On NYA Education

Maurice Harkins of Mineral
Wells, supervisor of the NYA was
guest speaker to the Mutational
club, Thursday, Oct. 17, in the
Methodist Annex.
Mr. Harkins explained the NYA
as an organization. He pointed out
the advantage-: of the organiza-
tion to unopportune youth in
training of character, health, the
choosing of a vocation, and in en-
quiring an education. The work
being done by both boy- ami girls
was illustrated by pictures of the
projects now in progress. Interest-
ing facts were given concerning
the full time resident center and
the construction project at Hanger,
where the boys are trained in ma-
chine shop, radio, electricity, and
airplane mechanics. The girls are
taught practical home-making.
Refreshments were wrved to 18
persons. Members present were
Mesdames I). I'. Williams, T. ('.
Curry, Sam Spears, Harry Heese,
Warren Willingham, H. Paniel,
J. L. Hart Jr., Karl Bean, Olan
Golf, and Howard Ledbotter.
The guest list included Mr. and
Mrs. Maurice Harkins, of Mineral
Wells, (5. 11. King, A. V. Jones, G.
H. McDaniel, I). I>. Denison, Perry
Fite, Tony Capps, W. 1,. Lumpkin,
and Miss Woodruff.

business visitor in Albany Monday.
Mr. Brock is connected with W. K.
Dawson in the oil business here.

delinquent taxes for the years
1927, 1!J28, 1929, 1930, 1931,
1932, 1933, 1934, 1935, 1936,
1937, 1938, for the following
amounts, exclusive of interest, pen-
alties and costs, to-wit: $197.05
for delinquent school taxes, to-
gether with interest, penalties and
costs allowed by law.
Said taxes are due upon the fol-
lowing described lands or lots:
First Tract: Bot No. 2, in
block No. 3, Chism addition to the
town of Moran;
Second Tract: \ tract 100 feet
wide and 150 feet long iu block
No. 2, Bray's addition to the town
of Moran, described in deed re-
corded in Book 38, page 512, deed
records of said County;
Third Tract: Southeast one-
fourth of survey No. 44, Lunatic
Asylum, all being in the Moran In-
dependent School District;
Plaintiffs allege a prior and con-
stitutional lien upon said land for
said taxes, interest, penalties and
all costs allowed by law, and pray
for the foreclosure of said lien and
sale of -aid lands for the satisfac-
tion of the same.
Each party to said suit shall take
notice of, and plead and answer
to, all claims and pleadings now on '
file and hereafter filed in said
cause by all other parties therein. |
