Kevin and Michele Croft are
proud to announce the engage-
ment and approaching marriage
of their daughter, Genevieve Suz-
anne Croft of Ovilla, to William
Gregg of Fort Worth.
The bride-to-be is a 2001
graduate of Duncanville High
School, a 2006 graduate of the
University of North Texas, earn-
ing a bachelor of arts degree in
theatre arts, and is pursuing a
graduate degree from Southern
Methodist University. She is cur-
rently teaching speech, debate
and theatre arts at Duncanville
High School.
The groom-elect is the son of
Dr. and Mrs. Robert Gregg of
Fort Worth. He is a 2002 graduate
of West Academy of Fort Worth
and will graduate in May from
the University of North Texas,
with a degree in History.
The wedding is set for Satur-
day, May 23, 2009, at Saint
Anne's Episcopal Church in De-
Soto.

has graduated from basic combat
training at Fort Jackson in Co-
lumbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of
training, the soldier studied the
Army mission, history, tradition
and core values, physical fitness
and received instruction and
practice in basic combat skills,
military weapons, chemical war-
fare and bayonet training, drill
and ceremony, marching, rifle
marksmanship, armed and
unarmed combat, map reading,
field tactics, military courtesy,
military justice system, basic first
aid, foot marches and field train-
ing exercises.
Davis is the daughter of Tina
Calloway of Palmdale, Calif., and
Edwin Green of DeSoto. She is a
2008 graduate of Opportunities
for Learning in Lancaster, Calif.

Mich. She is a 2004 graduate of
S.H. Rider High School in Wichi-
ta Callas and a 2008 graduate of
Texas Tech University, earning a
bachelor of business administra-
tion degree in marketing. She is
currently employed by TD Amer-
itrade as a client service represen-
tative.
The groom-elect is the grand-
son of Charlene Easley of Tem-
ple. He is a 2003 graduate of
Duncanville High School and a
2008 graduate of Texas A&M
University-Commerce, earning a
bachelor of business administra-
tion degree in business manage-
ment. He is currently employed
by Atmos Energy as a procure-
ment analyst.
The wedding is set for 5:30
p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009, at
the First Baptist Church in Wichi-
ta Falls.
Dallas Arboretum holds
Memorial Day celebration
Memorial Day in the gardens is always one to remember at the
Dallas Arboretum. Visitors are invited to come out May 25 to cele-
brate with your family at the annual Memorial Day Family Picnic.
Pack your picnic and bring your kids to enjoy Eddie Coker on the
Martin Rutchik Concert Stage at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The concert is
free with garden admission.
Children will enjoy various activities planned throughout the day
including: Photos by James French Photos ($15); face painting - 10
a.m.-l p.m.; petting zoo; and arts and crafts.

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is located on the
southeastern shore of White Rock Lake at 8525 Garland Road in

Obituary
Casey
Forrest Casey, 91, of Dallas,
formerly a longtime resident of
Grand Prairie, passed away Sa-
turday, May 16, 2009.
Mr. Casey was born March
19, 1918, in Greenwood, near
Decatur, Texas, to Mose and
Maude (Meeks) Casey. He mar-
ried Guinn Wilcox in Wichita
Falls in 1940.
Forrest was a U.S. Navy veter-
an of World War II. After receiv-
ing an honorable discharge, he
moved with Guinn and his young
son, Truman, to Grand Prairie
where he worked for LTV and
Graff Chevrolet. He was also a
member of the Sam R. Hamilton
Masonic Lodge.
Graveside services and inter-
ment were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday,
May 19, 2009, in the Dallas-Fort
Worth National Cemetery in
Dallas.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; his wife of 68 years,
Guinn; three brothers; and one
sister.
He is survived by his son,
Truman; daughter-in-law, Barba-
Dickson
Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col.
Weldon Ward Dickson, 69, of
DeSoto, passed away on Armed
Forces Day, Saturday, May 16,
2009, following a fall in his
home.
Weldon was born Sept. 22,
1939, in Hallettsville, Texas, to
the Rev. E.W. and Cladys Dick-
son.
Services will be held at 10
a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009, at
the First United Methodist
Church, 403 S. Main St. in Dun-
canville.
Interment will be held in the
Arlington National Cemetery in
Arlington, Va., at a date to be de-
termined.
He is preceded in death by his
parents; and one sister, Myra Ber-
ner.
He is survived by his wife of
47 years, Peggy (Cleghorn) Dick-
son; three daughters and sons-in-
law, Dara and Francis Fetsch, Teri
(major, USAF) and Edison Rig-
gleman (Lt. Col., USAF) and
Jodi and Robert Canoy; two
grandsons, Nicholas and Michael
Retired Lt. Col. Weldon
Ward Dickson
Canoy; two nieces, Cindy Smith
and Denise Kellum; and one
nephew, Ed Berner.
Memorials may be made to

Parsons
Kay Parsons, 61 of Lubbock,
went to be with the Lord Thurs-
day, May 14,2009.
Mrs. Parsons was born Aug.
29, 1947, in Dallas, to Marshall
Howell and Jane (Shepherd)
Warder. She grew up in Grand
Prairie and graduated from
Grand Prairie High School. She
graduated from Texas Tech Uni-
versity, earning a bachelor's de-
gree in education.
Kay married David L. Parsons
Dec. 28, 1968, in Grand Prairie.
The couple lived in Illinois and
Indiana before moving to San
Antonio for eight years. Re-
turning to Lubbock in 1985, Kay
worked for LISD and taught first-
grade at Stubbs Elementary. She
retired from teaching in 2001.
She was member of Monterey
Church of Christ.
Services were held at 10 a.m.
Monday, May 18, 2009, at the
Monterey Church of Christ. Bar-
ry Stephens officiated.
Committal services were held
at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 19,
2009, in the Wellborn Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by
her parents and brother-in-law,
Mike Rassbach.
Those left to cherish her

one daughter and son-in-law,
Heather Anne and Robert Shirley
of Longview; one son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Bradley David and
Lisa Parsons of Arlington; one

Wiley
Ronald Lynn Wylie, 63, of
Grand Prairie, passed away Sun-
day, May 17,2009.
Mr. Wylie was born Aug. 16,
1945, in McKinney, to Raymond
and Naoma (Honea) Wylie. He
graduated from Grand Prairie
High School in 1963 and attend-
ed Arlington State College. He
married Sharon McKee June 12,
1964.
Ronald was employed by Cen-
tral Industrial as a quality control
inspector.
A memorial service will be
held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 21,
2009, at Bean-Massey-Burge
Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth St.
in Grand Prairie.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; grandparents; and
one brother.
He is survived by his wife of
44 years, Sharon; two sons, Rod-
ney Lynn Wylie and Richard
Glen Wylie, all of Grand Prairie;
three grandchildren, Vanessa Wy-
lie, Marco Velazquez and Colton
Wylie; one brother, Charles Wy-
