For: -- Immediate Release -- From: -- Abilene Chamber of Commerce Public Information Department OR 4-7241, Ext. 5 P. O. Box 2281 Abilene, Texas -- -- ABILENE LANDMARK--Shown in the above picture is Hardin-Simmons University's original Science Hall, constructed in 1891, the first building constructed on the campus. Since that time, most of the structure has been incorporated in another building, still used as a Science Hall, in addition to being remodeled in 1920. Hardin-Simmons is supported by the Baptist General Convention of Texas and is one of three colleges located at Abilene. The others are Abilene Christian College and McMurry College.
