Houston by his company with an

ter a few days visit in Schulenburg,
with her new granddaughter. Pa-
tricia Allyean .daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Byrd. Patricia was
born August 2.
Mr. and M»-s. Bovell Scott and his
mother, Mrs. F. G. Scott, of Harlin-
gen; Miss Doris Keefe of San Anton-
io and Norman Armstrong of Dal-
las visited Mr. and Mrs. E. S.
McKenzie, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Keefe
and Mrs. J. R. Scott Tuesday.
, Philip Adrian Hudson, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Phil Hudson, enrolled in
dancing school Tuesday. His aunt,
Mrs. Dale Quinn, took him to school,
as his mother, Mrs. Hudson is on an
extensive trip to the West Coast.
Mrs. A. A. Kenney, mother of Mrs.
Hudson, said she was to have arriv-
ed in San Francisco Tuesday from
Los Angeles.

son . met Raybon W. Porter and
family of Oklahoma City at Turner
Falls, where they attended a fam-
ily Camp at St. Lukes Church, Okla-
homa City.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey J. Ramsey
and daughter, Jo Ann, have returned
from a business trip to Austin and
a visit with Mrs. Ramsey's brother-
in-law. and sister, Mr. and Mrs. C.
J. Stile in Houston.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Williams
were surprised Saturday when her
mother, Mrs. F. T. Cavin of Eden,
came to see her, also her brother and
wife, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Cavlu of
Petrolia. Other visitors were J. M.
Pyles, Jess Pyles of Kden, and
Charles Pyles of Dallas. They all re-
turned home Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Ted Tilghman of Freer, a
small oil town 165 miles south of
San Antonio, has been visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Pas-
chall and her sister, Miss Faye Marie
Paschall. Mrs. Tilghman tells of the
rapid growth of Freer, a town that
has a new fire department, post of-
fice and paved streets in the two
years she has lived there.
Dr. A. P. Daugherty. pastor of the
Greenville Avenue Christian Church,
who conducted a revival at the Mes-
quite Christian Church last week,
was the dinner guest in many
homes during the week. The Rev.
and Mrs. J. T. Simmons were also
guests. Hosts included the Rev. and
Mrs. Rex M. Thompson, the Rev.
and Mrs. H. S. Burgin, the Rev. and
Mrs. C. C. Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Cam
Alexander, Mr. and Mrs. Morton

Mrs. Joe Neal of Kaufman, dau-
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Riggs,
was in St. Paul hospital several
days last week, but is now at the
home of her parents.
Ozelle Humphreys, manager of
the Longview Bowling Alley, has
already became a booster of East
Texas. He says Longview has the
friendliest people he ever met.
Mr. and Mrs. John Keefe accom-
panied by Mrs. George Stephens,
visited the latter's brother, Charley
Harris, at Sulphur Bluff, and also
Mrs. Stephens home place, and
friends at Talco, Mt.. Vernon and
Sulphur Springs last week-end.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Law and family
of Cameron visited Mrs. Novella
Gross this week. Mrs. Gross and
Mrs. Law drove Mr. Law to Fort
Worth Tuesday, where he will be
there all week on business. Mrs.
Law will visit here and in Garland.
Miss Nancy Terrell bus recently
returned from a two weeks visit
with her aunt, Mrs. George Church
in McColister, Oklahoma.
Miss Margaret Terrell. Miss Lu-
cille Favor and Mr. Harrison of
Dallas visited Mr. and Mrs. Fred A.
Peters Sunday.
Miss Marguerite Strong of Austin
was the Sunday night supper guest
of Mr. and Mrs. .T. B. Reedy and
