Successful Revival
The Mesquite Christian Church
closed a successful one weeks reviv-
al, conducted by Dr. A. Paul Dau-
gherty of the Greenville Avenue
Christian Church, last Sunday even-
ing.
The appropriate sermons and en-
thusiastic work of Dr. Daugherty
will have a far-reaching effect on
the church. The Reverend J. T. Sim-
mons and Dr. Daugherty contacted
many members during the week, and
from all indications, the church
should experience a period of sub-
stantial growth.
Services will be held next Sun-
day morning and evening with the
pastor in charge. Sunday School will
begun at 10 a.m. at which time
many old and new members are ex-
pected to be present.
The teachers meeting will be
held Monday, September 9, at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Berry.
All officers and teachers are request-
ed to attend.

Jean Parker
A Favorite Movie Ac tress
The primary Interest in this week's
fashion centers on the "shutter"
effect on the front and at the back
of the bodice. This is achieved by
open flaps of fabric from the yoke
to above the waist. It is an estab-
lished style success and adds much
to the charm of the whole dress.
It's a coat-dress opening all the way
down the front with round bone
buttons. A smart collar of dress
fabric is topped by one of white
rayon bengaiine with an embroid-
