Volume II, No. 10-11
July - August 1948
Because of the delay in getting the June issue published and in view of the little
news on hand, we have combined the July and August issues of the "Hellcat News".
CONVENTION NOTES; Bill Comfort tells us that to date, indications are that at-
tendance at the reunion is very encouraging as signified by those members that
have mailed in the cards included with the June issue of the paper.
We remind you again to please send in advance the $5.00 to be credited to you
at the reunion. The purpose of this advanced remittance is to cover the Conven-
tion expenses. Some members have sent in $10.00 as their advance. We wish to
point out that the Committee asked for only $5.00 per person or per couple. The
money should be sent to W. R. Comfort, 3179 Chadbourne Road, Shaker Heights 20,
Ohio. Shaker Heights is a suburb of Cleveland and money orders should be made
out to Cleveland, Ohio postoffice. Please print your names and addresses on the
information cards, in order that we may be positive of the correct spelling. You
are also reminded to make your reservations as soon as possible at the Stevens
Hotel. Advance remittance checks should be made payable to 12th AD Convention
Committee.
The convention is not a stag affair, and wives of former Division members are
cordially invited to attend. We hope to have some special entertainment for them.
The Committee is happy to announce that everyone attending the Convention
will be the guest of the Association at a major league baseball game Saturday,
September 4th, between the White Sox and the Detroit Tigers. The Committee
hopes and feels that this event will be a welcome one to everybody.
The question has been raised as to whether there would be a parade or not and,
if so, if uniforms should be brought. No plans have been made for a parade and
we feel it is too late now to attempt to do this. However, it is something to keep
in mind for the future.
We wish to point out that members of the 572nd A.A.A. are not only welcome
to attend the Convention, but are cordially invited. This fact has not been men-
tioned before as it was assumed that these members were considered a part of
the Division.
