REPORT FROM
43RDTKBN UNIT
REPORT
We signed two new mem-
bers to our organization in the
past month. We welcome Ar-
nold Komowsky of 8103 Rad-
cliffe, Detroit 10, Mich., and
Walter L. Petty of 449 Barce-
lone Lane, Virginia Beach, Va.
Arnold has been married fcr
seventeen years and he and
his wife have two lovely chil-
dren, a boy 15 years old and
a girl 13. He says that he has
lost contact with the fellows
from the 12th and now he hop-
es to hear from his buddies
and he will try to make the
next reunion with his wife
Alice.
Walter Petty is still active in
the reserves. He has an as-
signment as Administrative Of-
ficer, 2086th Norfolk U S A R
School. He formerly held re-
serve assignments as CO 850
Postal Unit, 80th Regimental
Adjutant as Personnel Officer.
Currently held grade of Major
USAR. His civilian occupation
is Administrative Aide-Norfolk
USAR School, USAR Center,
Norfolk, Va. Walter and his
wife have 2 children, a daugh-
ter 17 and a son 13 years old.
He sent us $10.00, $3.00 for
dues and the balance for old
Hellcat News issues to catch
up with things and renew
old acquaintances. I turned this
over to our secretary and we
hope that Larry took good care
of him.
Another welcome letter I re-
ceived this past month was
from Howard J. Wood (C). I
haven't heard from Howard
since we left Germany. A year
last summer Marvin Rhoden
(C) spent some time with How-
ard and his family. Howard
and Viola have three boys,
Owen age 19, Irvin age 18 and
Alvy age 16. Owen is a mem-
ber of the Montana National
Guard and is studying com-
munications and electronics and
working at a grocery store.
Irvin is a senior in high
school, works at a filling sta-
tion and cn hot rod cars. He
is planning to go into the ma-
rines or to attend a trade
school this summer. Alvy is a
freshman, works on ranches in
the summer and fools with
cars and plays drums for
kicks. Howard owns and op-
erates a hardware store in Liv-
ingston, Montana. Livingston
has a population of about ten
thousand people and is on In-
terstate 90 and anyway you go
through the state of Montana
you would probably pass thru
Livingston. Howard says he
would be happy to have any
of the old gang stop in. He
has "been a member of our
association for many years but
has been unable to make a
reunion. However he still has
hopes of making one sometime.
We sure would like to see him
again.
