RHINELAND CENTRAL EUROPE ARDENNES-ALSACE
Twelfth Armored Div. Assn.
Harold Hendricks, Exec, Secretary
Box 13
Skokie, Illinois 60076
RETURN REQUESTED
66th
Armored
Infantry
Battalion
The Convention issue of the
Hellcat News was great as usual.
Should make all the Hellcats sorry
they missed the reunion.
We really hit the jackpot this
month--2 letters. Joyce and Geor-
ge 0'Bryan (C) made it home
safely. We met them on the way
home and traveled together for
a short time looking for a place
to eat and they were few and
far between. George sent along
a picture of Pat Pulkowski and
Floyd in deep discussion. Could
be they were planing to steal the
BIMI.
Little Kelly O'Byan started the
first grade this year. They also
took in the Grand Ole Opry at
the Duquoin Fair. It is Saturday
and we watch Country and West-
ern from 4:00, and now since
Johnny Cash is on--we watch un-
til 9:30. I'm certain if they had
left the 12th. in Kentucky any
longer, Floyd would have come
back to Illinois. Now you know
who is writing this months col-
umn. The reason follows:
In listening to the tape from
Mr. ten-Hove I made so many
errors in my notes that I cannot
begin to correct them all. I guess
the worst one was calling him an
assistant half-track driver-he was
the 3rd platoons mortar squad
full time driver. I also said he
was several fellows at a reunion
and he has never attended one.
Fm sure he said he saw some
one in Louisville. It is still writ-
ten down. Last time I get to take
Wendy Lansbach, daughter of Eber Lansbach, B-43rd,
in competition with 144 of the world's best swimmers in
the 14 year age group took ninth place at the Junior Inter-
national Swim Meet in Darmstadt, Germany. Wendy at
age 12, held the national record in the Butterfly of the I. M.
Her ninth place in both the 100 meter freestyle and
200 meter I.M. and 12th place in the 100 meter backstroke
was done in a 50 meter pool which is much larger than the
U. S. pools in which she trained.
notes. This comes from higher
up-sorry bout that Mr. ten-Hove.
Our girls are back in school.
Karen a Junior at the U. of I.
and Sharon a senior in high sch-
ool. The 1st. grade and the senior
year both age a parent greatly.
Our secretary sent out the mem-
bership report before the first
dues notice was sent and the 66th
has 41 paid members including
booster members. Total member-
ship is 563 so we have a long
way to go.
More next month-Keep those
dues coming in.
