At the reunion, 1st Sgt Jerry
Grigg wanted to be sure and note
to the 12 ADA the passing of John
L. Holland Dec. 7, 1982 and of
Lloyd Hohn Lundien Aug. 1981.
From Kathy (Mrs. Richard) Lun-
dien Daughter-in-Law, 32051 Hwy
385, Burlington, Co. 80807 we
received the obituary notice of
Gladys M. Lundien (wife of Lloyd)
died July 18,1984 in Denver at age
of 67. Gladys and Lloyd were
married the last day of school at
Achneider, near Shaw, May 16,
1941 lasting 40 years, they had one
son, Richard Lloyd.
From John M. Holland to Gil
Heine we learned that his father,
John L. Holland died Dec. 7, 1982.
John's wife had a stroke in August
'82 leaving her left side paralyzed
and confined to a wheel chair. John
was in the army 20 years and
depended much on his wife. He
would not put her in a nursing
home and he could not cope with
seeing her paralyzed and died of
suicide. Young John has 12 years
in the army and this experience
has strengthened the meaning of
army friendships. Wishing good
health and friendship to his fa-
ther's friends.
1st Sgt Grigg noted that Lun-
dein was one of the best soldiers
he had ever known.
That's it for now, see you later if
the ghosts, turkeys, Santa and the
New Year's baby don't get you.

Hi Folks; I guess you are
wondering about last month.
Negotiations are not yet com-
pleted between myself and my
sec'y., and we had a whole house
full, and a yard full of company for
our family Labor Day weekend.
We had Marjorie's sisters from
Okla. and Indiana. Cousins from
PA and DE, with their "Mini
homes". My cousins from Phila.,
Pa. My yard had almost as many
cars parked as the church across
the street does for a Sunday
Service. The young folks decided
this year to have a disc-jockey.
The music was loud but good, one
of our grand-kids snuck in a couple
of fire crackers before we caught
him. Fire crackers are not legal in
N.J. Our two campers stayed 'til
Tuesday and our Indiana visitor
stayed a week. Of course she spent
a lot of time down at Atlantic City,
and went home broke. Now we are
getting back in the old groove, so
we'll tell you what you want to
know.
The 38th reunion in Denver is
now over. We had four tables at
the dinner on Sat. Victor and
Raymona Krueger (A), Henry and
Helen Mueller(A), Clyde and Jose-
phine Billings (C), and Arthur
Long (C) were at their first
reunion. We hope its the first of
many. A Mr. Maistas Jr. regis-
tered on the sheet but did not
attend the dinner. There was also
another person who registered but
we couldn't read his name. We
tried several times to call him in
his room but received no answer.
(Who ever you are, please get in
touch?) You really missed a lot by
not making yourself known to us.
Bill and Dutch Roark made the
arrangements for our Friday nite
Unit dinner. We thought the place
was tops, and everyone seefhed to
ienjoy their meal. We took on a
tour each day as planned by the
Committee. We saw the most
beautiful country. The places we
went to see were competitive to
the scenery we passed through
getting there.. Bill Ackerman and
Bob Burns can chalk this up as a
big job, well done.
Earl and Margaret Ridgley were
also first timers. They arrived on
Friday night late. They were
staying with their son and his
family. I was really happy to see
Earl, its been nearly 40 years since
I saw him. We've kept in touch at
Christmas all these years but thats
not the same as meeting in person.
He looks great. I hope he thinks I
looked great too! I sure hope he
can make some more reunions.
Allen Horowitz invited the 82nd to
use his suite as a place to gather
Friday night after everything
stopped downstairs. John and
Georgia Coyne supplied the re-
freshments. Believe me it riveled
the fun we had in Vince's suite in
Rochester. We went home in the
wee hours. Earl's Son picked him
up that night but he and Margaret
stayed at the Hotel on Sat. night.
We came down early on Sunday to
have breakfast with our good
friends Don Seedborg, Bill and
Dutch Roark, and the Trojans and
Ed and Millie Kaminski. We spent
a nice hour together, then went to
the lobby to say adieu until next
time. We caught our plane home
and here we are now getting ready
to go to Nashville on Monday Sept.
24th. Hope we see you all there.
Andy and Nettie Clemente never
got to the reunion, even though
they had paid for everything in

advance. They were on a traveling
vacation and planned to hit Den-
ver for the reunion. While in
Seattle, Andy had two Angina
attacks, so spent the reunion time
in a Seattle Hosp. They were
planning on being in Nashville but
Andy has to have a Angia-gram
(spelled right I hope), so we will
have to wait one more time to see
the Clemente's Unless of course
you stop at their house in New
Castle, Delaware. (They probably
are in Ft. Myers, FL - Editor.) In
the meantime their Son Joey who
is in his last year of Med. School
has made them a gift of a new
Grandson weighing in at 9 lbs., 4
ozs.
Don Seedborg says; "Yes, it was
a great reunion and so many came
from the 82nd. Most I have seen in
the last three reunions".
Don Seedborg presented a plan
for Long Beach, Calif, in 1986 and
it won hands down. So its Orlando
in "85" and Long Beach in "86".
The Lupo's say they feel the
reunion chairpeople did a superb
job. The dinner dance Sat. nite
was super and their friends were
very impressed. The tours were
magnificent, we truly had a grand
time. Nick was pleased to see some
of the guys he hasn't seen for so
long.
It was sure good to see all the
old friends. The get-togethers and
chats. Sure hope you enjoyed it as
much as we did. Especially en-
joyed seeing Art Long. We pro-
bably won't be coming to Orlando,
but will try for Long Beach.

A battle as such is any conflict,
contest, or struggle for mastery.
Unless you want a royal battle.
Things like that don't happen in
N. J., only mufflers fall off cars on a
busy street, because the quiet man
gets his work done.
