Many thanks to the guys and gals that
sent in some news with their dues. It is
always a pleasant task to write the
column but much easier to have some
news to use in it.
Dominic L. Cianci (A) writes: "Sorry I
didn't make it to the reunion — the ticker
is acting up again. Got to take it easy for
a few weeks. Regards to all and may you
all be around for the next reunion."
Bob and Evelyn Cooper (Hq) were at a
weding in Dallas, Tx last June and
stopped to see Thurman D. Hood (Hq) at
309 Dean St., Athens, Texas. She wrote
that Bob and Thurman spent some hours
hashing and rehashing and giggling like
two teen-aged boys over their days in the
12th. Thurman lost his wife a couple of
years ago. The fast-traveling Coopers
spent 5 days visiting in Texas,
Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska and
back to the Dakotas and home. In
August, they flew to San Francisco to
visit their son with trips to Lake Tahoe
and Yosemite. Hood is now an ass'n
member.
Joe Darby (A) says that he
appreciated the contribution when he
was unable to keep in contact and his
dues were takn care of. He was planning
to attend this year's reunion but had
another heart attack and is still recu-
perating. Joe sent in his booster.
Robert D. Miller (Hq) was unable to
make the '76 reunion since his wife was a
national delegate to another convention.
He is unable to travel by himself yet. He
also writes: "Sure hope you all had a
good time, maybe next year will make it.
Sure enjoy the Division news every
month. See you all again some day, I
hope."
Eugene A. Marsella (Hq) writes:
"Appreciate all the great work the
officers of the Association are doing and
always look forward to the Hellcat
News."
Vern Sylvester (A) says: "Sure hope to
make the reunion in 1977. I expect to
retire early in '77 and Myrta and I hope to
travel a part of every year."
The Robert Steinmetzes (Hq) also
regret that they were unable to make the
'76 reunion. This is the busy season for
paint contractors and Bob is in charge of
the business as her father suffered a
stroke. Henry Sadlo (C) and Paul
Belshoff (Hq) are near neighbors of the
Steinmetzes but do not see each other too
often. They hope the reunion was a great
"bash". It was.
Arthur Ernst (C) says that he is quite
busy with his work at Hormel Meat
Packing plant and his rock hobby. He
says: "I have opened a rock shop in my
basement so put in a lot of time there and
would be glad to hear from any rock-
hounds."
Rex Higdon (A) has moved to 2519
Wallace Ave., Apt. D-2., Louisville, Ky
40205. He says there are no news of
interest but likes the Hellcat News very
much.
John L. Willsey (B) says that he is still
living in the log house at the same old
address.
John Josefowski (Hq) writes that his
son, Bryan, has joined the Marine Corps
for the next 4 years and is stationed at
San Diego, Ca. Time surely does fly for
it seems that only a few years ago, Bryan
was the little boy at the reunions.
Edgar Bealer (B) says that they could
not make the '76 reunion since their vaca-
tion came at the wrong time. He is now
working 6 days a week.
Edwin Leininger (B) writes: "Hello to
all fellow members. Had one nice
summer, my wife and I are in good
health for a change. Usually it was one or
the other in the hospital. Did some
fishing and traveling and are really
living it up. Our last daughter, out of 5,
will be married in March. Our son, John,
who is 19 is in his second year at
LaCrosse U. So, the nest is getting
empty."
The Dan W. Carters (B) tripped to Las
Vegas to see their son and on to Honolulu
for a week. They plan to spend the usual
four winter months in Phoenix. The next
issue should carry their Phoenix
temporary address.
Ernest N. Holt (C) says that he was
unable to atend the reunion due to illness
in the family.
Stanley M. Folkman (C) sent a history
of the 572nd A.A. "Helltracks" to the
Division Historian which was given to
him by Ralph Perkins, Vice President,
Dunlop tire and Rubber Co. He says that
one runs into former men of the 12th in
the strangest places. The 572d Anti-
Aircraft Bn was in support of the 12th
thru most of the time in Europe.
Clarence Johncox, Jr. (Hq) writes:
"Sorry to have missed the Springfield
reunion but our N.Y. State Square Dance
Convention was held in Syracuse that
same week end. Irene and I are wonder-
ing how many Western style square
dancers there are in the 12th Arm'd
Ass'n. We are in our 4th year and really
enjoy it."
Do you remember the definition of the
"Chowhound"? He is the guy in line just
ahead of you.
Arthur Eden's (C) "His girl Friday"
writes: "Arthur had a severe heart
attack May 29 and was out and back in
the hospital since then. He is now resting
at home to give his heart a chance to heal
until Oct. 6, when he will be given tests to
see what damage there may be. Then he
will have open heart surgery. He does
enjoy reading the Hellcat News. So, keep
it coming."

BOOSTERS
James B. Kelley (A)
Ralph H. Beilstein (HQ)
Well we have dues, booster but no news
from Ralph Beilstein, (Hq.), from James
B. Kelley, (A), we also have dues and
booster and he writes, "Had a nice visit
from Paul Ratliff from W. Va. and big
Jim Michels from 111., about a year ago. I
would like to hear from other members,
who were with A-66, before I was hospi-
talized in January '45, as I don't see
many familiar names in the Helleat
News," This rep has already written to
find out where these fellows are, as I do
not have any sort of an address for either
of them.
Floyd Raisor (C) has Kathleen to
write, "We had a wonderful time while in
Springfield, but doubt if we get to Phila-
delphia. We just got back from visiting
our son, Ferrell. He is a Lt. Col. in the
Forrestal Building in Washington D c
He worked for 3 years in the Pentagon.
He will be in the Army 20 years next
year. He works on the Army budget. We
stopped in St. Mary's, W. Va. to see
Charles Fetty, but he had gone to the
hospital to see his mother-in-law. I also
phoned Sally Schenkemeyer. She is
working in a furniture store in
Johnstown, Pa. Our son, Floyd Robert, is
Sp. 6 in Seoul, Korea. His family has
joined him there. He has been in the
army over 12 years. He is in Legal and
personnel work. Randy is married and
works in the parts room of a big Ford
garage in Louisville, Ky. He lives close
by us in Indiana. When we go to Loving-
ton, 111. to see Floyd's sister we will drop
by to see you." (We will be expecting you
as you can't get there without going
through here.)
John B. Lewis (Hq.) sent a check for
dues. They are paid now for next year.
Lee Gormley paid your dues for this
year. Glad to have you, and know you
will enjoy your associaton with us. John

member spent considerable period of
time looking over the rolls and trying to
remember and place faces with names.
After 30 years it is an almost impossible
task, as I have completely lost touch with
the other members of headquarters
company, With the exception of Don Dart
with whom I still exchange Christmas
cards, though I haven't seen him since
early 1945. Lee Gormley, who was my
platoon leader, and I crossed paths about
two years ago as a result of a case that I
was handling here in Sacramento. His
name appeared and I wrote him asking if
Lee Gormley, D.O., was the same one
who had the greatest tenor voice in the
outfit. He used to sing "Ace in The Hole"
so well that it is still a favorite of mine.
After I got out of service I went back to
college and law school, and was
graduated from the University of
California at Berkeley. I practice law
here in Sacramento and am in private
practice.
Don Day, who was Co. Co. of either A
or C Co. is in the insurance business in
Marvsville, which is a town about 40
miles north of here. (Please send an

I am married. My wife's name is
Emily and her son and my daughter
reside with us at 3407 Sierra Oaks Drive,
Sacramento."
Our diligent secretary sent a member-
ship report for October and though we
had a gain of 242y2 over last months
count, there are a lot of old members
(length of membership time) who still
have not paid for this year. Come on
fellows let's get this done right now.
I guess this will be the Christmas issue
so to all you wonderful people may we
wish you all a Blessed Christmas and
Joyous New Year.
