REPORT FROM THE
56TH AIB UNIT REP
Well the holidlay season as
over and we are in the New
Year which I hope will be very
prosperous to everyone.
If Xmas ciarnie every month
it would sure toe easy for a unit
rep. I received cards from so
many of the fe'llows and a good
many of them wrote a few
words in them and some wrote
long letters. I sure enjoy get-
ting these and I'll pass the in-
formation onito the paper.
Jim (Mac) Mic Cormick (Hq
Co.) writes that all is well with
him and his family. He sure
enjoyed the Sit. Louis reunion.
He sent noites to Brooks, Hath-
away and Brusatte. Put the bee
on Brunsiatitie to get up on his
dues "Mac", and anyone else
you know who doesn't belong.
Jim Whitesiide (B Co.) writes
all is well and hoped to be in
their new home by the first of
the year. I dropped toy their
home and didn't find anyone
there.
"Wanda and I drove down to
see Clyde and Genevieve Gal-
logily. Ginger is doing well since
her recent surgery and is up
and around for a sinort time
each hour.
Jim Read (B Co.) couldn't
make the reunion this year as
he had just finished a nine
thousand mile trip to Californ-
ia. He looked up Loehner and
Col. Beaich and .they are both
fine. Did you put the pressure
on them to pay their dues,
Jim?
On a less pleasant note he
also found out that Sgit. Mus-
tain the mess Sgit. of (B Co.)
had passed away on January
11, 1953. He had been in poor
health for some time.
Porter Penrod (B Co.) sent
some negatives of pictures tak-
en at the reunion, which I am
sending onto the paper. All is
well with them and hope to
make Louisville. We are wait-
ing for the big news from Mo.
Dick Motzer (B Co.) sent me
a clipping for the big book and
he and his family are all well-
Joe Lentz (B Co.) couldn't
make the reunion as several
things came up at that time,
tout will try and make Louis-
ville. He also informs me that
there is a new Mrs. Lenitz. It
is a little late Joe, toult we wish
both you and Rulth the best of
everything.
"B" 56th Fellows at St. Louis Reunion

and 56th AIB unit rep. In the front row left to right we have
Jack Begley, Don Turney, Leroy Carpenter, Vic Challen and
Ray Liebel. In back of them are Dick Motzer and Porter Penrod.
John Summers (B Co.) wrote
me a long letter saying he has
been in the hospital for surgery
for uilcers, but is doing real
well now and hopes to make
Louisville. We sure hope to see
tooth John and Genny there.
Leroy Carpenter (B Co.)
wrote a long letter saying all
is fine with him and his fam-
ily. He sent a picture, taken at
the reunion which I am send-
ing onto the paper. He sent me
George Dewitt's (B Co.) add-
ress. Go to work on him "E-
wald" he hasn't paid his dues
yet.
I received a letter from John
& Delores Rice in California,
He is doing O.K. for himself. I
am working on him to join the
association.
I'll shut this oflf for now and
remind you all to get -three of
your buddies to join and we
will Wave a real good member-
ship in the 56th. Go to work on
them now and good luck.

REPORT FROM
493RD AFA BN
UNIT REP.
With Christmas just behind,
us and a new year before us,
let's concentrate now on in-
creasing our membership and
miake the reunion in Louisville
the biggest and besit yet. Please,
ail of you get behind that pen
and pencil or on the telephone
and make some contacts with
men of the 493rd. I aim sure
you will get some results buit
you have to put some work
into it. The thrill of just one
new member from fifty letters
written is well worth the try. I
know from experience.
We are so happy to have
Francis Kemick (Med) 40 Pop-
lin Ave., Bradford, Pa. Uoin us,
Now, Francis you try to sign
someone up and we hope to
see yiou in Louisville.
Our association means so
much to our children, making
new friends and going places.
Recently our daughters Beth
and Ginny received a letter
from Sharon and Karen Cthea-
turn, daughters of Mr. and Mrs.
Ervin Cneatum, 1607 Park St.,
Effingham 111. The girls hope
to see each other again in Lou-
isville.
We appreciated all the Christ-
mas Greetings and notes we
received during the holiday
season. The note from Salva-
dor Delgado meant so much.
We mentioned the days of 1942
at Campbell, Texas and Europe,
especially December of 1944.
Sure, Salvador we remember
too.
If any of you know of the
whereabouts of Paul Johnson
(B) 493rd, send me his address.
We are rejoicing over the
toirlth of our grandson Vernon
Howard Waites III. born to our
son and his wife on January
10, 1964. This is the greatest
thing that has happened to us
since our children were born.
