66th AIB New Notes
We are well into another year.
Nearly time for the Mid-west
Meeting in Aurora. You still have
time — Holiday Inn - February
25. We as a family are all wrapp-
ed up in Basketball, Bowling
tournaments, Midterm exams, and
wishing for cold enough weather
to freeze the Lake, No ice skating
yet.
Had a letter from the Bob
Meads (B) & (Hq. - 56). Bob
send along a write-up and picture
of his eldest son, Brent, who is a
sophomore, has honors in scout-
ing incuding the God & Country
Award. Brent saved his money,
from delivering papers to attend
the National Boy Scout Jamboree
in 1964 and is now saving to at-
tend the World Boy Scout Jam-
boree in 1967. A son to be proud
of. Two more coming up are
Bruce a Freshman and Becky in
the 5th Grade.
Bob is still working at the job
of Special Petroleum Represenative
for Farmland Industries, Inc.
which covers the southern 2/3 of
the state of Iowa. We remember
you from the St. Louis reunion,
hope to see you again in Detroit.
Clyde Bowman 66 a renewal
sent a couple of pictures. I'm
sending the one of Capt. Cox
along and if there is room it will
be printed this month. If any one
knows where Capt. Cox lives we
would appreciate the address.
Have heard from Harold and Vi
McCormick; John and Mary
Nemeth; Wayland and Nora Britt;
Ted and Flo Bernstein all C. They
all have wonderful memories of
past reunion and looking forward
to the next one.
Received a note from Weldon
E. Normans' (C) Haven't been
able to get him to join, so will join
h>m. He sells cars in Canton,
Texas. You fellow remember him
as the mailman and Co. clerk.
Paul Swanson Hq. 494th. en-
joys the Hellcat news. His job is
with the University of Wisconsin
carpenter shop. He now lives in
Oregon, Wisconsin with his wife
Ruth Ann, John 12; Eric 9; Ed 7;
Kyle 6, and Grace 1 I, who had
her appendix removed just before
her birthday. Some present. Due
to moving at convention time
they did not make the Chicago
reunion, which would have been
their first. Try for the Detroit,
Paul, and maybe Lester and Pat
Smith 494t^. will make this one.
Lester has gone back to work on
a part time bas';s after a flare-up
of his ticker system. He says old

age is catching up, but who ever
heard of a Hellcat getting old.
Joe and Ruth Palemri (C) had
to miss the 20th reunion but they
have already made plans for the
21st. If you make one reunion you
want to become a regular.
Sally and Joe Schenkemeyer
(C) are eating deer steaks. Jay
and 1 1 other fellows got 10 deer
by noon one day, sounded like
small war — he says. They must
of had an assembly line — I say.
Won't hear any more from them
till that dog has those pups, but
I'll be back next month, with your
news.

DR. WM. A. CLUNIE (Med./
572), 323 Park Ave. Huntington,
Ind. 46750: You may enjoy this
one: "Two spinster sisters where
looking at the local paper and one
commented; 'Here is an article
telling of the death of a woman's
third husband and she had them
all cremated". "Isn't that life for
you?" said the other. "We can't
even get one husband, while others
have husbands to burn."
JOHN J. MELFI (CCB), 287
Letchworth Ave., Columbus, Ohio
43204: Not much to report, ex-
cept I'm booked solid on worries.
Why, r ve got so many worries
that if anything occurs today, it'll
be 1 0 days before I can get around
to worrying about it.

Happy 1967 to one and all.
We were very surprised to hear
that Dorothy and Bill Hawkins are
now grandparents. Their daugh-
ter, Virginia, is the new mother.
Remember when Virginia used to
be a "little tyke" and attended
the Hellcat reunions with her
mother and dad? How time flies.
Received a nice letter from
Marianne and Bob Koch — they
sure do get around. We are ex-
pecting them to visit us in Tampa,
Florida this year now that they
know Tampa is our winter head-
quarters.
Congratulations to Mary and
Jack Miller who recently celebrat-
ed their 25th wedding anniversary
and herewith would like to extend
our wishes for the next best years
towards their 50th anniversary.
We also received a nice letter
and a photo enclosed from, the
Amato family. There is plenty of
snow in Michigan, so we can well
imagine the snow and cold weat-
her the Amato family live with in
Wallace, Idaho. Wonder if the
Amatos will make the Detroit re-
union?
Received a note from Wally
Majava and he sent us the address
of an ex-Hellcat, Merrill Klassy.
Wally, why don't you contact
Merrill and invite him back into
our organization?
Thanks to Len Dooley for drop-
ping a line to your long suffering
Rep. Len will be in Hot Springs,
Arkansas for the rest of January
— lucky guy. Len, when you meet
with Ed Brovic and Bomby in
Chicago, give them my best re-
gards. Sorry we can't be with you
for the Chicago winter reunion.
Charles Quici had four of us
over to his home on Sunday,
January 8th, and we discussed the
1967 reunion plans. Charles, our
reunion chairman, is going all
out to make the Detroit reunion a
great success, and we hope the
92 nd will be well represented.
After our meeting, Charles served
"one for the road" in his recreat-
ion room.
As usual, I would appreciate
hearing from any of you, and I
definitely don't believe in the old
adage "no news is good news" so
c'mon write to me and let me
know the latest news.

COL. FRED P. FIELD (Hq/-

A.P.O., New York 09407: Arrived
back in the E.T.O. on Nov. 14,
1966 after a 20 year absence.
Presently located in Munich is not
far from the old 12th Armored
trails. I've made several short trips
to the old haunts, but a present
snow is hampering my movements.
Sure would be wonderful if we
could retrace these old trails to-
gether. Give my regards to all my
friends.
JOHN G. RICE (B/56th) 282
Comstock Drive, Ventura, Calif.
93001: Haven't had much of a
chance to keep in contact with
the boys, my wife was in the
hospital for six months but she
is home now and feeling fine. As
soon as she catches un on the
housework and dishes I'll have her
write more.
MIKE ANGELICOLA (Sv/

N.Y. I 1378: Had a visit from
Harold Arnold (Sv/23rd), also
Carmine Siracuse (Sv/43rd) and
they both look and are doing very
well. All Hellcats are welcome at
my Italian Restaurant at the above
address.
PHIL SHERIDAN (A/13 4),

(Sv/23) stopped for a visit. Ray
figured while his newspaper the
Toledo Blade was on strike he
could do some hunting in Canada.
Angie is the Post Mistress in
Custar, Ohio. Doesn't this make
her the Madame Mistress of the
mails?
