The HELLCAT NEWS
REPORT FROM
134TH ORD BN
UNIT REP
Received a letter from an
eld friend A1 Gaynes (C/134)
of 65 Burnside Drive, Hastings
on the Hudson, N.Y. A1 and
Debbie (they have two daugh-
ters, Elizabeth 16 and Susan
12) visited Otto and Edyth Zim-
merli alt their new home and
had a ball talking about o 1 d
times. A1 also donated $9.00 to
pay for membership for Otto
Zimmerli of 1501 Wagner Cir-
cle, Lake Clark Shores, West
Palm Beach, Fla., Ralph M.
Messner of RR No. 3, Sunbury,
Pa., and Albert J. Varady of
12628 So. Harvard, Chicago 28,
Till. These are all "C" Co. men.
Our hat is off to A1 for his
effort towards building up the
134th membership.
Money donated by "A" Co.
men at the reunion haJs result-
ed so fair in membership for
Duke Johnson, Henning, Minn.,
Howard Murphy of Box 391,
Baldwin, Wise., and Chester Ol-
son of 6405 Ralston Rd., Arvada
Colo. It is gratifying to see so
many of the men who received
paid memberships now sending
me $3.00 to pay for some
other non-members. However -
I am not too gratified in find-
ing out how many of the fellows
aire still delinquent with their
1962-63 dues.
Ross Bell (B) wrote and told
me about his bull that wasn't
doing right by the cows on his
farm. Ross called a veterinar-
ian who gave the bull some
pillis and immediately the bull
ran to the pasture and serv-
iced all 53 cows. "Holy cow,
what did you give him?" -
Bill asked. "I don't know" re-
plied the Vet, "but 'they taste
like peppermint."
Ed. note: Bill had 53 cows
plus one he couldn'd find. Bill
traveled the entire county look-
ing for him and yelling, "Cow
54 where are you?"
Faithful Hugh Silsby dropped
a line to say that all is fine
in Mason, Mich. The 134th pic-
nic was a huge success with
most of the Michigan, Indiana
and Ohio boys showing up. -
Sorry I couldn't make it this
year and free load from your
picnic basket. Hugh also wrote
Roy Davis stopped in one Sun-
day and they went to church
in the evening. Roy's singing
converted quite a few people -
to the church across the street.
They also made plans for the
St Louis reunion next year.
Earle Hoyt's son, Tim, was
telling his mother about their
trip to the Detroit Zoo. "Did
Dad tell you all about the an-
imals?" Ginny asked him. "Oh
yes" replied Tim. "Dad knows
all about them and one even
paid $9.80.
It just dawned on me that
this news is for the Christmas
issue of the Hellcat News. Do
not forget to mention our as-
sociation when you drop a note
or card to an old army buddy
and how about adding Max W.
Aitkin (B) of Eldon, Mo. to your
Christmas card list if you have
not already done so. Max has
been seriously ill for several
years and according to 'his wife
Sylvia he really perks up when
she reads him the Hellcat
News and letters from the
boys of the 134th.
I sincerely wish each and
everyone of you a very Merry
Christmas and a Happy New
Year.

REPORT FROM
56TH AIB UNIT
REP
Hi Folks!
We have good news to start
with. Walter Stanton, after
reading in our column about
Frank Reilly having a heart at-
tack, took off with his wife Kit
to visit Frank and hiis family.
We are most happy to learn
that Frank is back at work a-
crain, of course with restrictions
- Walt went on to say that
Frank has five of the nicest
Children he has ever seen and
that his wife Mary is tops. I
am sure that all of Frank's
friends join me in wishing him
continued good health. Also a
vote of thanks to Walt for the
information. Frank was one of
the best mailmen I ever met
and I am sure he would ap-
preciate a letter or card from
some of the old gang. His ad-
dress is - 15 Witt Ave., Den-
ville, N. J.
We have it from reliable
sources that Harry Kettler our
reunion chairman is hard at
work in St. Louis. The dates
for the mid-winter meeting are
January 25th and 26th. It will
be held at the Sheraton Jeffer-
son Hotel in St. Louis, Mo. If
you are in the area be sure to
drop by. We had a real get-
together in Pittsburgh last Jan-
uary. Well, that about wraps
it up for another month. - -
Please write as we need news.

REPORT FROM

Hi Folks!
Well, if it wasn't for Ed Bro-
vic and Dick Hendry I would
be dead as far as this column
is concerned. It is a little
hard for me to believe that no
one from the 92nd has a thing
to write to me about. I know
there are some of you fellows
out there somewhere but as far
as the Hellcat News is con-
cerned you may as well be on
the moon. Surely there must be
some kind soul out there who
remembers "Bomby" Bombas1-
aro and Will drop him a line.
How does ilt look for us recon
men to be so outnumbered in
news items. Well, enough of
that.
The great white hunter, Dick
Hendry, just returned from Col-
orado. He brought back a deer
and an antelope. Boy, I sure
would like a pair of nice soft
leather gloves. I went to a coin
auction with Ed Brovic and
found it very interesting. Of
course how could anything to
do wtith money be anything but
interesting?
I want to take this opportu-
nity to wish all of you recon
men my very best wishes to
you and your families for a very
Merry Christmas and Happy
New Year. Let's start the New
Year right with a little news
for my next column.
