CONT. FROM PAGE 1
Preliminary to the general business session Saturday afternoon, the association officers, reuni-
on committee and executive council met to discuss the membership and financial status of the asso-
ciation and to plan the order of business for the convention.
Unit representatives were selected at the unit meetings Saturday afternoon.
The most spirited session of the convention took place Sunday morning. The nominations comm-
ittee submitted three names for each elective office and the entire membership cast secret ballots
for their choice.
The surprise of the convention was the selection of the next reunion site. From previous meet -
ings it appeared that the balloting would be on Omaha, New Orleans and Cincinnati -- with Cincinnati
being the sure thing. However, just before the balloting started, a late comer submitted a bid for
Detroit. Balloting was so close that it was necessary to separate the delegates, one side of the room
for Cincinnati, the other for Detroit. After a double check it was decided that Cincinnati was select-
ed by two votes.
