made thee whole."
Ten were healed, but only one
returned to give thanks. Jesus
indicates that to give God thanks
for His daily blessings is to glorify
Him. The word "glorify" is the
word "doxology".
We need not wait for Sunday
morning to sing the doxology. We
can "sing" it all day long be being
thankful.

The word thanks also conveys a
special message. It is derived
from the greek word, "Eucharist",
or as many say, "Holy Com-
munion".
The believer who gives thanks
is in holy communion with God.
This Thanksgiving Season we
Americans still have much of
what the rest of the world just
dreams about. "Thank you Lord,
for freedom, family, food, and
fortune."
God is a gracious, loving and
giving God. Amy J. Flint's great
song, "He Giveth More Grace",
ends with line, "He giveth, and
giveth and giveth again." Of all
the good gifts from God none
could be greater than the "Gift of
God, which is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord." The
apostle Paul says, "Thanks be
unto God for His unspeakable
gift." A gift is to be received, we
do not earn it. But once received
the only proper response is,
"Thank you Lord for your son
great a salvation." Ten received
healing, only one glorified Him
through a thankful spirit. This
season let's join the stranger and
glorify God together.

Our first bit of news comes
from Julie "Ed" Bernstein (Div
Hq/G-5). Ed writes that southern
California where he resides in
Riverside had one of the hottest
summers since they have been
keeping records. Only a couple of
days had the temperature gone
below 90 degrees during the day
and several times hit 110 and 115
degrees. Ed adds that he was
back on the east coast for a short
while during the summer to at-
tend a wedding of the daughter of
an old CIC buddy. While in the
process of traveling via military
hops, Ed met Jim La Marca (Div
Hq/AG) at McGuire Air Force
Base and spent a short few hours
reminiscing about the days at
Campbell, Barkeley and those
days in the ETO. Ed says Jim
looks great, hasn't changed that
much and believes he could still fit
into his WW II uniform. Jim
retired from the U.S. Postal
Service a few years ago and took
a trip around the world in a
sailing ship and had a great time.
He wished that he could have
spent more time with Jim but had
to travel on. Ed sends his best to
all.

A short note from Div/Sply
(QM) for the November issue. It is
about time I put in my two cents
worth and reveal some of my
secrets. I have written to some
Hellcats, talked to some Hellcats
and Hellkittens on the phone, all
to no avail.
I just found out why my rela-
tives from the mountains don't
visit me any more. They went
home and told on the grapevine
that those Hoosiers ate, slept, and
did their business in the same
house, plumb unsanitary.
I still think you are a great
bunch. Just don't roll over and
play dead!!! DEWEY ISOM - QM

Gene Blackford (Hq/17 AIB)
sends us sad news in the form of a
newspaper clipping taken from a
Waco, Texas newspaper inform-
ing us of the death of one of the
Division Group members, Frank
Meyers (Div Hq/G-2). The item
shows Frank having passed away
on 17 September 1981. In his
letter, Gene adds that Frank had
been ill more or less since 1972
with heart and circulatory ail-
ments and was recently hospital-
ized with a massive heart attack.
Gene attended the funeral. The
clipping states that Frank was a
retired pharmacist having ob-
tained degrees in accounting and
pharmacy at the University of
Texas at Austin. His survivors
include his wife and his mother.
The Division Group extends it's
deepest sympathies to them.
Karl and Jeanette Snyder (Div
Hq) check in with their dues and a
most welcome booster with a
short note that they are sorry
they could not make Rochester
this year but hope to make St.
Louis in '82.
Mike Petrucelli (Div Hq/CCR)
also with dues and a note to Exec.
Sec. George Moss, informing us
that he has been erroneously
placed in the division roster under
Division Trains and asks that a
correction be made. In a footnote
George writes: Check October
HCN for correction.
Harry Deck (Div Arty) sends
dues and tells us that in June, he
celebrated his 33rd year with
Armstrong World Industries
whose headquarters are in God's
Country, Lancaster, Pa. His last
12 years has been in his present
position of Director of Transporta-
tion. Twin Harry has graduated
from Millersville State and Gary
from Ogelthorpe University (At-
lanta) and Temple Law School. He
