The HELLCAT NEWS
REPORT FROM 23rd
TKBN UNIT REP
I deeply regret at this time
to (announce the passing on of
a good and lovialble friend, John
Brunetta OC & D / 2 3) of 12
Pleasant Sit. N. Reading, Mass.
He answered the final roll call
on March lil, 1964. John will
always remain in our hearts as
a member of the Hellcats. He
was well liked (by has friends
and all who knew hiim din the
association. According to Jean
whom I talked to by phone
John suffered a 'sudden heart at-
tack while 'visiting friends down
the street. Association members
who planned to be at his fu-
neral were Kiarl Kuigel, Cliff
Bourie and myself. Our heart-
felt sympathy goes out to his
wife Jean and John's two chil-
dren John Jr. and Carol Ann,
'Enclosed is a check from Earl
Belcher (C/23) of P.O. Box 433,
Huntington, W. Va. for dues. He
did not include any news aibout
himself but we are grateful for
his new membership and we
welcome him to t h e Hellcat
family.
I also received a short letter
from one 'of our old buddies
with a check for dues to join
our lassociation. His name is
James R. Beckley (ID/23) of
RT. 1 Turner Station, Ky. This
is the same address he had
when he went 'into service. He
is married and has ia family of
two boys and one girl. One son
is 21 years of age and is in the
service. He is stationed at Fort
Knox where he is t a k i n g his
basic training. James owns a
fiarm near Turner Station,
drives a school bus and does
some carpentry work during 'the
summer. We hope to see Jim in
Louisville and we are very
happy to have another new
member added to our roster.
Am still hoping to hear from
more of you guys out there.
Let's keep the 23rd in the news.
All it (takes is 'a few written
lines on a postcard.

CURE FAMILY
HIGHLIGHTS
Tony (21) back at Purdue
University. Now a sophomore
in the school of Humanities and
studying Industrial Economics
with a minor in Interior De-
sign. All this is intended to
lead into the "Furniture
World."
Irene (19) is also a sopho-
more at Purdue. She is in the
Home Ec. School with all in-
terests leading towards becom-
ing a fashion designer.
Jim (16)—sweet sixteen that
it — is a Junior in high school,
went out for football and did
very well and has his perman-
ent driver's license.
Cindy (12) is in the 6th
grade and in her natural stage
of leadership. Her interests are
varied and many. Her competi-
tive spirit is a real asset as
she has tackled piano, violin,
voice lessons, knitting, swim-
ming and being just busy.
Susan (7) the sunshine of our
life. As a 1st grader she is
full of enthusiasm for learning
and is doing well even in de-
portment. Susan's bright say-
ing of the year came on her
birthday; after opening a gift
box of stationery, she said,
"Oh dear! I'm just learning
how to read and now I've got
to learn how to write!"
Bill (46) Same wonderful
guy! He is still busy in many
civic and business projects. We
have enjoyed a busy year
business-wise. We have been
taking dancing lessons and
having a ball — one of the
most fun things we have ever
done.
Eilaine (1 year older than
last year). Each year seems
to pass quicker than the one
before. I've enjoyed the week-
ends at Purdue and working
with Bill in keeping Cure and
Son going. We are looking
forward to seeing our friends
between now and the World's
Fair. Look out, you in the East!
You might be invaded by the
Cures.

Maybe another year when I get
out of some of the other activi-

to come to one.
Harold J. Wedder (B/82) 801

"Sorry I did not renew sooner
but my wife has been ill and I
just didn't get around to it. Will
try to make the reunion in Lou-
isville."
43rd TK BN UNIT
REP REPORT
The following is from a let-
ter I received from Melvin
Knack (SV). "My wife and I
sure do enjoy the Hellcat News
very much. It is the best $3.00
I have ever spent. As I was
thinking of my ole army pals
I thought of Andy Nazarey so
I got on the phone and gave
him a call. He sure was sur-
prised to hear from one of his
old army pals and I was glad
to talk to him again. I asked
him df he was getting the Hell-
cat News and he said that he
had never heard of it so I
gave him the association ad-
dress. I wish all of you Hell-
cats would give an old buddy
a phone call or write to him.
I try to make one call a month.
It is wonderful to hear an old
familiar voice again. We are
looking forward to the Louis-
ville reunion, so you fellows get
those letters into the Hellcat
News. We want everyone to
know that we service company
men are still around. Any Hell-
cat travelling near Meradosia,
111. be sure to stop in."
Signed:—
Melvin and Kathryn Knack
Thanks Melvin for the letter
and the membership drive you
are promoting. You are doing
a fine job. I hope more of you
Hellcats will do the same.
Dr. Frank Tiberio stepped 'in
to see us on his way back from
Kansas City a few weeks ago.
Frank was in Kansas City with
his brother-in-law learnirg a-
bout a new heart machine.
They had a little tough luck
with their car on the way and
had to buy a new one to get
home.
Bob Clark (C) says he has
seen about one third of the
fellows from "C" Co. by mak-
ing it a point to look them up.
Someone has to take the ini-
tiative.
I heard from Pete March-
banks (C) who also enclosed a
check for his dues. Pete says
he has lost contact with all
the fellows but heard that we
had a reunion. He just didn't
know where or when. Now he
will be getting his Hellcat News
and he will know what is going
on in our Hellcat family. Pete
is farming near Meadow, Tex.
H's wife's name is Polly and
he and his wife have three chil-
dren. They have a son age 19
who gees to Texas Tech and
two girls: Truddie 13 and Polly
Ann 10. Pete says he would like
to atte-d a reunion and see
some of the fellows again. He
would like to know what hap-
pened to Sully whom he hasn't
seen since the war. Pete was
our watch repair man in the
43rd and his only work bench
many times was an old tree
stump out in the field. He car-
ried his equipment in an old
cigar -box. His address is M. P.
Marchbanks, Rt. 1, Meadow,
Texas.
Earl McCormick (A) under-
went spinal surgery in April
1959 and has has been para-
lyzed ever since. Earl is trying
oO establish a service connected
disability and he would like to
^et the addresses of Haroia
Stocker and Walter Petty both
of "A" Co. He thinks it would
help his case to get in touch
with them. If any of you fel-
lows know the whereabouts of
these former Hellcats please
send the information to Earl.
His address is V. A. Hospital
1-5-A, Topeka, Kansas. Earl is
married and he and his wife
have two children, a boy 15
and a girl 9.

DON'T KNOCK
THE TWIST
We've been telling you about
the swell time our teenagers
had in St. Louis. Here is pic-
torial proof. Here we have a
couple of our young ones show-
ing the oldsters how to do the
twist. We love having them.
