Received a nice fat letter from
our Secretary and Boy was it full
of news.
Elmer J. Hull (Sv) "I suffered
a severe heart attack on June
23rd. and I'm still not back to
work. Slow progress - - just hope
to be able to do things I did
before. Sorry to have missed the
reunion, especially when it was
so close."
Herbert Modrow (B) "Hope
everybody had a good time at
the reunion. Am sending Wenzel
Arbuckle's (A) dues. Sure hope to
make the next reunion." Ted
Bernstein (C) "Sorry not to greet
you personally at the reunion.
Things just didn't work out right
this year. Looking forward to
reading all about it in the next
issue of "Hellcat News." (Flo,
thanks for the booster and the
letter.)
Otto A. Koerner (Sv) "No news
-everything about the same-Both
daughters married so it's pretty
peaceful". (Ed. note-temporarily)
Everett Riggs (C) "employed by
the Texas State Highway depart-
ment as a Maintainence Tech. II.
Any Hellcat down this way stop
in Corpus Christi. Our son PFC
Charles L. Riggs is serving with
the Fourth Army in Vietnam near
Kontum." (Thanks for the booster
donation)

By the time this letter gets print-
ed, Kay and I will be in Tampa,
Florida for the winter. Of course
we will be home for the Christmas
holidays for a couple of weeks,
but if any of you get down around
us, be sure to stop and see us.
Lucky me, got some letters, like
Floyd Cheatum, 66th A.I.B.
this one from "Bomby Bombasaro
"Do hope and pray that this letter
finds you all in the best of health.
Mom and I are O.K., but we both
keep our darn old colds - they
are hard to get rid of this time
of year. Ed Brovic, Len Dooley
and I met last Monday, and the
Midwest Reunion is all set. It will
be held at Rossi's Motel in Joliet,
irinois (right across the road
from the Holiday Inn) on Feb-
ruary 28, 1970. It will begin at
6:00 P.M. with a cocktail hour,
then a beautiful buffet dinner of
other dishes. I do hope we can
have a good turn out, with Len
Dooley in charge it should be a
big success, so all of you who
read this are invited - please
come."
From Dale McKitrick: "After
reading your column (September
issue) in the Hellcat News, de-
cided you deserved a note of ex-
planation. The Saturday of the
convention turned out to be our
moving day, but Ursel, my wife,
insisted that I make an appear-
ance due to the closeness of the
convention, and also to get me
out of her way. Because of this,
I aid not make hotel reservations.
Also, I felt that it would not be
a good idea to start home after
the banquet at a late hour with
any booze under my belt. In mid-
afternoon, while most of the
people were in their rooms rest-
ing for the evening, I thought it
would be a good time for me to
get the car and quietly slip away."
From Marvin Dorf of E Troop:
"Still working to support my fam-
ily. Would like someone who
knows the address of Cecil Far-
ris of "B" Troop to contact me."
From Joe W. Murray of F Com-
pany: "I'd like to have address
of the boys of F Company 92nd
Cav. so I can get them out for
the Myrtle Beach, S.C. reunion."
From Earnest E. Benton of F
Company: "I had open heart sur-
gery the last of April, and am
getting along fine. I would enjoy
hearing from anyone from F Com-
pany. Weldon Denham stopped by
to see me Saturday - he lives
in San Martin, California." (Ben-
ton's address is 4939 Avenue 252,
Tulare, California 93274.)
From Nestore Poponi of E
Troop: "I am enclosing my dues
for 69-70, and would like to pay
for my old buddy Phil McKenzie,
Box 268, Grand Rapids, Ohio Phil
was in Troop E of the 92nd Cal-
var Recon."
A special hello to each one of
you from your friend.

I better start off with a couple
of apoligies, first to Walt and
Betty Bible Hq. Walt was hospit-
alized with a heart attack quite
some time ago and I just came
across the bad news. We certain-
ly hope that by now, Walt is up
and around. I know a few letters
and cards would make Walt feel
much better.
The second boo-boo I can live
with. Chicago the Windy City tied
with Cleveland for the reunion
lead with Three. Thanks for the
old eagle eye Boy Saehloff (SV).
Never seen a more eager and
happier bunch of guys at the re-
union then the ones that spotted
The nams of Robert E. Burns
(HQ-A) cn the list for the NASA
trip. For this also meant that
Art Naimy (SV) would be along
too. Both were sort of planning
on making this one, of course
the disappointment followed. No
Bob or Art. By the way Bob, was
that your reservation in the first
place???
Bill Schulz (HQ)....still operat-
ing the airport that I had while
in the service. If any of you guys
are flying by...stop by and say
hello. How about all you guys
from the 12th living in Spooner!!!
R. J. Schwartz (C)...how about
a report from out west. Anything
new on the Western States Chap-
ter?????
We sure did miss the old gang
in Cleveland but things didn't
turn just the way we expected.
If all goes well, Sara and I will
see you all next year...Walt Har-
den (A).
While on the subject of reun-
ions, you guys from down south
start dropping a few lines this
way and start getting the show
on the road. Start pushing Myrtle
Beach S.C. for '70.
Ken Tangen (B)..still owns and
operates the Gulf Oil Station, also
drives a school bus. They have
3 children, Ronald, working for
the Lutheran Brotherhood in Min-
neapolis, Jeffrey, a soph in high
school and Mark a first grader.
Scrry I couldn't make Cleveland.
All if fine with Grandma and
Grandpa Strubbe (C)...we miss
the gang for we haven't seen
them for some time (the feeling
is mutual). I'm still teaching and
enjoying every bit of it. Dean's
still at it, playing golf and get
this, playing ball for the Lions
Club....(Who wheels you around
the bases). I don't believe in thre-
ats but you two better be in S.C.
next year.
Happy to hear that you had a
good reunion in Cleveland. Myr-
tle Beach is closer to home base
so perhaps we'll be able to make
it next year. Kindest regards to
all the fellows in the 495th....
George and Arvilla Michaels (HQ)
Polly and I are planning NOW
on attending the next reunion in
S.C. We missed the past two
years and Polly says we're not
missing this one. Don and Polly
Sears (B) (We missed you two,
TOO).
Phil Mauger (B)....we appreci-
ate you sending in your dues but
now about sending in a little news
to go along with it
That's it folks. Aagin I would
like to have you guys who have
never written to drop yours truly
a few lines. All of us would cer-
tainly like to hear from you and
your better half. How about it!!!
Till then, be good, take care and
God Bless you all...A VERY HAP-
PY THANKSGIVING TO ALL.
