allotted proportionate space. A
number of our men have ex-
pressed a desire for privacy via
a suite for our exclusive use.
Suites are available at a cost of
$100 per day, a reasonable cost
provided the room will be of
sufficient size and have the
necessary amenities such as
bar, fridge, etc. Request for
information has been submitted
to the Reunion Chairman and
hopefully such information will
be published in the August
issue. Your comments and sug-
gestions are appreciated. And
so with news of any sort. Keep
in touch.

Dominic Latella, Jr., Hq/494
wrote 7 May '85 to inform me of
the sudden passing of George
Gerber, Hq and A/494. Dominic
received word from George's
son stating that his death was
sudden and on 6 May '85. This
info was passed to Norb Bruem-
mer and to our Association
Chaplin Rev. Robert A. Miller
A/494. Makes me doubly glad
that I was in Denver last
August and got to see George.
We recognized each other right
away.
Letter from Warren Maue,
A/17th on 29 April informing
me that Robert E. Stone of Dal-
las, Texas had responded to
Warren's ad in DAV Magazine.
Robert didn't know which Bat-
tery he served with as his dis-
charge only mentioned the
494th. I checked an old roster I
had and found that he was in A
Battery. Also found that his old
address was 1429 Euclid Ave.,
Zanesville, Ohio. I next called
information and got him on the
phone - about 11 PM his time.
His address now is 2005 Elm-
wood Blvd., Dallas, Texas
75224, phone (214) 333-3900. I
sincerely think he was quite
surprised to find tht we had
such an active organization. He
requested a current roster of
A/494 which I do not have. I
have a card for each member of
494th and am now having that
typed so I will be able to send
copies of a Battery Roster to
those who desire such. When
typed I will send one to you
Robert. By the way Robert and
his wife Marion already have
reservations in Orlando.
A short note from Tom and
Lorraine Scott B/494 telling of
their joy in attending the West-
ern Chapter in Sedona, Ariz-
ona. I think Tom had the same
sort of luck in Las Vegas as
Sam Pattinson did in Reno.
Lester Smith, Hq/494, writes
of enjoying the Midwest Reun-
ion. Lester promises some pic-
tures from the Midwestern. He
also talked to Bob Campbell,
Hq & C 494, but couldn't get
him to attend as Bob had the
flu.
I am frequently asked how to
report the death of a member.
Report such to your Unit Rep,
he will then report to our Cha-
plin who is listed on page 2 of
the HCN. You can also report to
our OUTSTANDING Executive
Secretary and Editor Norb
Bruemmer. However, take the
easy way and report to your
Unit Rep and let him do the
rest.
Lots of Early Bird members
this year with a listing of Life-
time and Early Bird members
in the June HCN. There is a
dues envelope in the June HCN
and if you have not sent in your
dues - do so NOW.
I have not heard from a sin-
gle member of the 494th with
their views on candidates for
office in the Association. Might
be too late now as several phone
calls were made in May and I
think we have a good list. How-
ever, there is always room for
more. Be sure you check your
nominee out to ascertain that
he will attend and that he will
WORK.
In the July issue of the HCN -
that is this issue you are read-
ing you will find reunion and
hotel registration forms. Use
them if you did not use the
forms provided in the April
HCN.
Had a card from Sam Pattin-
son. On the front were pictures
of 21 Tanks. Inside it said Many
Tanks. It was in memory of his
visit to this part of the country.

sent a note stating he is looking
for a buddy to share his room
with him on a 50-50 basis at the
Americana Dutch Resort Hotel
in Orlando, Florida. Joe is a
non-smoker and feels it would
be cheaper for the two of them.
So, if you are a single, you can
in effect get a room at half-price
by contacting Joe at: 4928 N.
Karlov Avenue, Chicago, IL

Still have not received any
suggestions for the Blue Ribbon
Award. Will close now and
remind you that every day is a
good day, however, some are
just better than others.
