Had a call from Art Shirvin,
who will be at Lansing. Will
cut this short because when
this issue come out, we'll be
done celebrating in Lansing.
The May issue will have a com-
plete rundown of the Lansing
mini-reunion.
Now that we have the March
issue behind us, shall we go
into the April issue, hopefully
without any goof ups?
Your Unit Rep goofed this
one up. Bob Saehloff took me
to task but just gingerly. The
motto for our Louisville reun-
ion is, "LIVE IT UP IN LOOIE-
VILLE". Finally got that
straight.
Clint Seitz, "B" did it again,
recruited another buddy for the
495th and the 12th. Welcome
aboard Julian E. Smith. We
missed you, but better late than
never. Enjoy your Hellcat News
and your new Membership Ros-
ter. Drop a few lines to your
Unit Rep and start to re-
acquaint yourself with your
long lost buddies. And for the
rest of you guys, get Julie's
name in your roster. Rt. 2, Box
236 C, Shelby, NC 28150.
Clint, another job well done.
Let the rest of us keep pluggin'
along and try to locate some
more of our lost friends.
Eleanor Williamson "B"
wants to extend her many
thanks to the Chaplain and to
you wonderful Hellcats for the
many letters and cards she has
received during her time of
anguish. She now knows what
it feels like to be a part of the
Hellcat family. (Eleanor, that's
what were all about).
Lots of luck to you in the job
market, hopefully you will find
something to keep you occupied
during this time of stress. It's
great to hear that you are bless-
ed with such considerate child-
ren, they definitely will be of
great help. Enjoy them and do
keep in touch.
Here's a bit of news sitting
on the shelve for a while, so
better get with it. George and
Vi Zabransky, "B", please for-
give.
We know George is enjoying
his retirement so well that Vi
got the bug and plans on retir-
ing in June after 23 years with
the Spring Branch School dis-
trict in Houston.
This may give both of them
a chance to travel and more
than likely end up in Detroit
visiting Mark and Debbie Thur-
mond. Son-in-law Mark now
pitches for the Detroit Tigers.
San Diego Padres loss is De-
troit's gain. Will keep you Hel-
lcat sports fans informed on
Mark's progress. Mark and
Debbie have a son 27 months
and twin boys about a year old.
George and Vi also have a
son Mike, a graduate of Uni-
versity of Texas and in the
Jewelry Mfg. business. Only
after a slump in the building
trade where Mike was a Project
Supt. They are also blessed
with a daughter Sandra and
her husband Bill Ashworth who
is in the Valve business. They
have a son and daughter, 6 and
3 years respectively. So Grandpa
George and Grandma Vi have
their baby sitting chores cut out
for them.
Art and Dorothy Shirvin "B"
are sitting on pins and needles.
Their daughter is expecting
their first child come May. Art
and Dot, how was your Nash-
ville trip?
Belated Birthday Greetings
Dorie Ostraat, "A".
Things get mighty gritty at
times, this has been a way for
George Michels, "Hq" after the
loss of his wife Arvilla of 49
years. Still George takes the
time to help others going
through the same trauma he
went through. So when we
heard he is planning to attend
the Louisville reunion, we will
keep our fingers crossed there
will be no interruptions. See
you in Looieville George.
No wonder Dave and Bernice
Ross missed the Long Beach
reunion. Dave's job took him to
Italy. But it was back home to
spend a little time with his
lovely wife and a little golf and
enjoy the sunshine at Cassel-
berry, FL. But it looks like back
to Italy, this time for the both
of them. Arrange your schedule
where it won't interfere with
the Looieville reunion.
Enjoying retirement... AND
HOW!!! according to Ken and
Thelma Musmeci, "C". They
have been very happy with the
mild winter around the West-
chester, IL area. Hopefully next
year they will spend part of the
winter in Flordia around their
favorite spots, Venice and

Naples. Lots of luck.
So good to hear that all is
well in the Utter "C" house-
hold, Cedric and Betty.
Bert and Madeline Bertoli
"C", sure hope your Hellcat
News arrived and we are cer-
tainly sorry for the delay. Stay
with us, we enjoy good com-
pany.
Certainly no complaints from
Jerry and Helen Sullivan "C".
All is well with both of them
and this couple is planning on
LIVING IT UP IN LOOIE-
VILLE.
Harry and Leota Woodward,
"Sv" left the Iuka, IL winter
and headed for College Station,
TX, for a visit with son and
family. From there it was Wick-
enburg, AZ for a nice stay and
visit with daughter and family
who moved there last July. A
hard move for the kids to make
but according to Harry and
Leota, it has helped their
grandson immensely.
For many of Glenn Stover's
buddies, Glenn "Hq" is pretty
fair except for the cool and
dampness that effects his
arthritis. Have a pretty good
cure, how about a card or letter
headed for Ravenna, NE 68869
with Glenn's name on it?
Seems like everyone in the
Midwest is bragging about the
mild winter and that includes
Don Sears "B" of Princeville,
IL. He and Jane are just great
and these two regular reunion
goers surprised me by missing
the one at Long Beach. Thought
they would take a few short
trips instead and ended up do-
ing neither. But we are sure
that Looieville is on their doc-
ket.
I always think of Alaska
when McVays name pops up,
but it's Portland, OR. Sure
thought that Charlie and Anne,
"Sv", would have made the
Long Beach reunion but just
had too many visitors to enter-
tain.
Oh no! we won't give up on
you. But believe me if and when
you two make one, you'll have
plenty of company. Service Bat-
tery always turns out in full
force.
Well John Frantz, "B", it's
after the Holidays and we're
waiting for those few lines. You
and Eva get together and send
some news, we'll be ready for
it. Talk about news. It's my
time to make my plea, you guys

and gals have been great help-
ing to fill the 495th column, so
don't stop now. And as usual,
still looking forward to hearing
from many of you first timers
who have never written. Mem-

would like some news from our
