Pic from Mrs Clarence Sell. A Co. 43rd, No info.
others.
The Dillingen picture was
taken about one hour after
reaching the Danube. Frank
Chaszar (Driver) took it with
A1 Fabulichs liberated German
camera. We had no bow gunner
at this time. I don't know what
brought Maciolek over to our
tank. Maybe he thought we had
some fresh eggs and potatoes.
We did! Keep the pictures, Jim
Hawn."
Hi Jim, Call me any dam
thing you want, Jim - your
letter got mixed up with some
receipts I put away and because
of tax time I just pulled out.
Hope you agree better late than
never. Pics look good.
Andy Migala (B) Writes - "Hi
Stoney, Well I think it's time I
dropped you a few lines. No
news in particular but the win-
ter months are flying by fast
and in a couple months I'll
head back north. Have had a
pretty good winter so far
weather wise. Still haven't got
to St. Cloud to see Howard
Tyger yet, but I'll see him one
of these days he's right on the
road going to Orlando. My
Buddy Chuck Seman of the
56th brings over his copy of
the Hellcat News before mine
reaches me by the way of Ohio.
Well Stoney in just a couple
months we'll have to make
plans and reservations for
Louisville 1987. I see several B.
Co. fellows sent in dues but no
news, they sure must be busy
since retiring just can't find
time to write a few lines. Well
Stoney your doing a fine job
for the 43rd, keep up the good
work. Just, Andy Migala."
Cliff Hunter (C) Writes - "Hi
Stoney, Hope you all had nice
holidays, all was fine here. Had
a nice talk with Sgt. Furlow
awhile back all was good with
him.
Looks like winter passed over
us this year, we have had a
mild winter, had a few days of
hard rain and wind, but not
cold.
In reading the Hellcat News
for February, Bob Dralle of (C)
talks about James Bond driv-
ing his tank over that 8 ton
bridge, and I being the gunner
in Sgt. Malrys tank, has a few
names wrong.
During maneuvers at Camp
Campbell I was a platoon Sgt.
with (D) Co. 43. I went to (C)
Co. after the battle of Herrli-
sheim. I was communications
Sgt. with (D) Co. during Her-
rlisheim. It was then that I told
Shaw to stick it - and I would
just as soon be private. He said
O. K. and transferred me to (C)
Co. when they needed some
fellows. Capt. Riddel made me
Andrew's gunner, and after
Andrews was wounded at the
Dillingen Bridge I took over as
tank commander till the end
of the war when we went to
Ellwangen, Germany. After
about five weeks in a field
hospital with frozen feet I was
sent home on the point system.
By air, by way of Africa and
up the coast of South America.
Eight days-better then eleven
on a boat. So long now, Cliff
Hunter."
Hi Cliff - should have picked
up on that myself, but so many
of the guys got shifted around
that it's difficult to keep it all
straight.
Note - If any of you do make
a move please include all in-
formation to our Editor Norb
Bruemmer. Including Apart-
ment Numbers - your phone
number would also be appreci-
ated. The apartment number is
very important.
Chapter Reunions - Still time
to take in a chapter get to-
gether, check your calendar
over, go ahead make that reser-
vation you'll be glad you did!
Mrs. Arthur Krikorian (B)
"Rose" Writes - "Just a line to
give you a change of address
and also to let you know how
much I enjoy receiving the
"Hellcat News".
Since my husband passed
away I found it very hard tak-
ing care of both the inside and
the outside of our house so the
reason for the change of
address. My children have been
wonderful about helping but
I've hated having to use their
free time and we figured I'd be
happier not having to worry
about things getting fixed.
Would love to join the yearly
reunions but don't know how a
single woman would fit in.
Please excuse the rambling but
I feel I had to write. Sincerly,
Rose Krikorian "Hell Kitten"
Hi Rose, Wanted to work your
letter in shortly before reunion
time. Reunions - they're pretty
much what people make them.
Our reunions are really pretty
much family affairs. People
sight-see an area, visit back
and forth, partake in the pro-
grams the reunion committee
has planned, enjoy the unit get
togethers, the big last night
dinner and dance, some ladies
shop the different stores, the
golfers take on the local course.
Most of the outfits have a hos-
pitality room where one can
have a cool one or two and
snacks. And yes the guys do
spread a bit of B. S. here and
there, but that's surprising as
they really don't go overboard
too much. All in all the re-
unions are pretty much what
they're supposed to be, a get
together of old buddies, friends,
comrades. Many strong friend-
ships have been formed over
the years. And of course it
never hurts to say I'm Mrs. - So
and So. And if you're lucky
enough to have a son, daughter
or friend to share the time with
so much the better.
God Bless You all,
Stoney
