The HELLCAT NEWS
MONTHLY REPORT
OF 714th UNIT REP
Now that Christmas is over
r.md everyone filled with the
holiday Turkey the next thing
on the holiday docket wjll be
the tonsil 'tonic (as Slim Nel-
son called it) .that will toe en-
joyed by everyone, or almost
eveiryione on New Years E /e
and then 'the nexit day .and pcs-
sibly the day after the heads
will still toe toig 'and the toromo
will toe mixed left and right.
But I guess that if they did not
have their toiit of enjoyment out
of life then there is no use liv-
ing, that is if you like to in-
dulge.
iSo much on that subject. I
did receive a nice letter from
John Henning D Co. who is
still in the Ohio National Guard
and is a Chief Warrant Officer
3rd Grade with a combination
of Army and National Guard
time of 20 years which is a lot
of years. He is employed by the
Standard Oil Company and is
an ardent Bicycle racer. I know
John, that this is what a tot of
us should do 'and I think that
we would not be having aches
and pains. John officiates in
amateur bicycle racing and does
a lot of traveling for it. Keep
up the good work John. I think
that is a good job well done.
Received a card from Warren
Nelson Sv/Co. tout I .think that
•he must have had a toroken
arm, because there was no
writing on it. Warren or Slim
as we call him is associated
with Peer Realty in Ft. Laud-
erdale, Florida and if any of
you Hellcats are around the
area look him up and if you
are interested in property there,
I know he will take good care
of you on that s c o r e, right
Slim? I hope that you will
make it to Louisville next
Surge. I see by Bill Johnson's
Card that he has decided to
vacate the old premises and
has moved to another part of
town. Good luck Bill and Zita
and we hope that you will en-
joy your new place. It was nice
to hear from Jack Dona van
B/Co. and Jack let me know a
little more atoout you and your
family, etc. Bibi Quid thought
that I would feel toad because
she sent a lot of Xmas cards to
members reminding them of
the Reunion in Louisville in '64.
All I can say to that Bibi is
a great, toig., THANKS. I hope
more are doinig that toecause it
shows that you really care and
want a toig turn out, ailso to
put the 714th on top. How about
it guys, here is a wife doing a
good job for us. Will you help
out and do your part. I am in
hopes that we can build up cur
membership a lot more than
it is and the only way it can
be done is toy everybody con-
tacting the fellows that you
chummed around with in the
service. I know that Harry Ket-
tler must have spent a lot of
money on postage in making
contacts with former Hellcats
It takes a lot of letters to make
the contacts. I wish I had as
much money as I had time and
I could make a lot of them.
I will make an effort to con-
tact as many as I can, tout I
would like to have a few men
from each Company make some
contacts. I will do the same and
furnish them the addresses, if
they are available in the file
and in the big roster I have,
which is old, but I believe help-
ful, or as Harry says contact
the Election Boards, Chamber
of Commerce, City Hall files,
etc. and you might be surprised
how they help. I will do my
part, wiU YOU?
I do hope in all sincerity
that each and everyone one of
you will have a very happy
and prosperous year in 1964 and
that good health will make it
possible for the whole gang to
get together in Louisville. I
know that if you look around,
you will be suprised that there
are more fellows in your home-
town that were members of the
12th and do not know atoout the
Association, so make a New
Years Resolution, that you will
go a little toit toeyond and do
a moire thorough investigation
of your area to make Louisville
the toiggest Reunion in the His-
tory of the Association. I would
like to see a lot of the fellows
that have not been to a reunion
for a long time and were offi-
cers at one time, such as Wes
Gardner, Bud Bensel, and quite
a few more. It would seem like
old times again. Don't forget
write when you can, so we can
have something to write about.

NEWS FROM
HELLCATS
Robert E. Crowley (C/134)
2211 Royal Oaks Drive, Irving,
Texas:- "Anyone having two
growing, healthy, active chil-
dren has very little time to do
much writing. I still work at
International Harvester Com-
pany and have 23 years now.
We have three other people
employed at our Dallas loca-
tion who were members of the
12th Armored Division. I have
on several occasions urged them
to join and even bring down
my monthly copy of the Hell-
cat News for them to read but
I haven't had much luck. Per-
haps if we put their names in
the paper someone who was
actually in their company might
drop them a personal note and
have toetter luck. The three
men I am referring to are:
George Anderson W.O., Basil
Houchin Staff Sgt., and Clifford
Holland Staff Sgt. All were in
•the 134th ord. bn and all can
be reached at 1801 Irving Blvd.,
Dallas, Texas in care of In-
ternational Harvester Parts
Depot." Ed. note:- A good try
Bob and we hope that some-
one will follow up on the
groundwork you have laid.

Reunion Time
William F. Robinson Sr. (A/
66) 5318 Camelia St. Pittsburgh
Pa. 1520*1: — "My wife Mary
and I were planning to be in
St. Louis but we had the mis-
fortune of being involved in an
auto accident that left us both
with whiplash injuries. I know
my reunion buddies Winston
Ball, Keith Sullivan and John
Henning had a great time and
I sure missed them. I hope to
see them at the next one."
Dennis P. O'Conner (HQ/17)
11 Waverly Place, New York
3, N.Y.: - "Had a call from
Bob Chase (HQ/17) last year.
Wanted to know if I was go-
ing to the reunion but I could-
n't make it. Had a real good
time at the ones I was able
to attend. Certainly hope I can
catch the next one. Pierre
Regnault dropped in to see me
at the bank. It sure was a
pleasant surprise. He wished
to be remembered to all the
crowd. Wonder if anyone has
heard from Clayton Chalk of
Covington, Ky. I sure would
like to hear from him. Also
Sgt. Kline our supply sgt. My
regards to all of the Hdqs. Co.
17th AIB and best wishes and
continued success to the assoc-
iation."
Enos W. Harden (A/495) -
824 Bland Ave., Sheltoyville, Ky.
"Still at the same old job and
things are beginning to get bet-
ter. Longer hours though. Am
aiming to make a reunion one
of these days. Sure do miss
some of the old gang, especial-
ly Erichson my 1st Sgt. What
a guy. Hope to see you in "65"
if nothing happens."
It is with deep regret that
we announce the passing of

lotte, Ed passed away on Nov.
20th at the Veterans Hospital in
