EDITORIAL OF
THE MONTH
Still A Good Buy!
There is a current bit of
humor making the rounds a-
bout a family sitting at the
Sunday dinner table after re-
turning from the usual Sunday
morning church service. Dad
wasn't too happy with the ser-
mon. Mother thought the or-
ganist was off key. Sister
didn't particularly care for the
choir's singing . . . but they
ail shut up when little Willie
piped up: "Still it was a pretty
good show for a nickel".
Perhaps your unit rep doesn't
mention your name often e-
nough in his columns or your
Hellcat News is a few days
late at times or the reunion isnt
quite as close to your home-
town as you would like it to
be or maybe you have another
pet gripe about the association.

INVITATION TO
COLMAR FROM
OVERSEAS
Hi Hellcat,
As we near the close of this
year in Heidelberg, Germany
we thought that we would like
to pause and wish you success
and happiness in 1965. I have
also been wondering what you
might have planned for the
Slst of January. This will be
the 20th Anniversary of the
"Liberation of Colmar". I've
been in touch with the Mairie
de Colmar and he has extended
an official invite to YOU to at-
tend the manifestation. As he
put it: "The municipality de-
sires to welcome and pay hom-
age to those who fought with
honor, self-sacrifice and heroism
for the liberation." If you can
come drop me a fast line
(via airmail) and I'll fill in the
details. It sure would be good
to see you. If you can't make
the scene write and let us know
sociation is doing things, stop
for a minute and ask yourself:
"Could it be that my name
isn't mentioned in the columns
because I didn't send any news
to our rep?", "Is the Hellcat
News late because there are a
lot of fellows like me who hold
up our rep from turning in
enough news on time to go to
press as planned?", "Would the
reunion be closer to my home-
town if I went to the last re-
union and voted for it?",
"When I stop to think of it,
isn't the things I am not get-
ting out of my association my
own fault?", "Don't these few
little gripes seem incidental
when I think of all the good-
ness the Hellcat News and
yearly reunions give me?" Then
I believe you too can para-
phrase little Willie's remark
with, "Still a pretty good show
for $3.00 a year".

Ed. note: We regret that this
invitation came too late to in-
clude it in the December issue
of the Hellcat News. However
perhaps some of you may hJave
already heard from Ernie di-
rectly. In his letter to us mail-
ed on the 30th of December he
mentioned that he had al-
ready sent about 140 individual
invitations as is printed above.

ton, 111.: — "Einclosed are my
dues. I am sorry I am so late
with them as I always have
good intentions but time slips
by so fast. The wife and I want-
ed to make the reunion but just
couldn't. Perhaps next year. We
are all quite well and hope this
letter finds everyone in good
health."
