NO. 2
NEWS LETTER
FROM CALIFORNIA
Have been very lax with my
letter writing but by golly this
time I have a bit of news —
and I would like to pass it
along.
We had a very great but
very short visit from Harry
Patchin, wife Beverly and six
year old son. They were here
the 22nd and 23rd of July. They
came to Joe Jessens and we
had quite a gab session there.
Then on over to my place and
I dug out some of my old color
slides I took overseas. We only
wish they could have stayed
longer. This was the first time
I had see l Harry since we
split up in Germany. We even
had a cold bottle of bubble
water to toast the occasion.
Harry was in the Med. Det.
714th and in talking to him I
found out he was not a member
of the association so enclosed
you will find $3. for this year's
dues. Maybe after a year of
belonging he will find out what
a fine group we have. His
address is 3413 Harwood St.,
Harrisburg, Pa. The wife and
I have been fairly well tied
up here at home. Her father
had a heart attack last July
but has been recovering nicely.
I sure thanli ihe army for my
medical training as it has been
a great help. Both Joe and I
now work in the Long Beach
plant of Douglas Aircraft. We
eat lunch together, hash over
old times and cook up places
to go together.
Sure wish I could talk more
of you people into coming west.
We could have a great reunion
at the Disneyland Hotel, see
the sights, the beaches are
only 11 miles away and Los
Angeles just 35 miles. By golly
I'll get you feJlowL out w«s:
yet! We are very sorry we
could not make the reunion
but do hope you all had a good
time.
Sincerely,
Don and Ardeth Walker

Hellcats Get Together In California
This picture was sent in by Don Walker (MED/714). That is
Don on the left, Joe Jessen in the center and Harry Patchin on
the right. Notice the decal that Don gave to Harry to display on
his car. The picture was taken on July 23rd of this year. Yes,
that's gray you see in my hair. Joe's is blonde and Harry — his
has slid a little, but what can you do?

Carl Habermann (152) 3336
Sycamore Knoll Drive, Colum-
bus 19, Ohio.: "Can't report
very much. Each year I gain
a little more strength. It has
been 10 years now once I con-
tracted polio. This year I ac-
complished being able to get
out of bed by myself. However
I am still confined entirely to
a wheel chair. Had the pleasure
of hearing from Bill Cure when
he came through here last
year. Hope everyone had a won-
derful time at the reunion.
Hope to be able to make it
myself some year soon." Ed.

Can you think of anything that
could be so inexpensive and

about it a little and if you think
we are right just send us the
