The HELLCAT NEWS
REPORT FROM
714TH TK BN
UNIT REP
I really did enjoy the last
issue of the Hellcat News and
if all the unit reps will con-
tinue to come through with
good reports the members will
have a lot to read. However
there is only one way they
can have a lot to read and
that is to give their unit reps
something to write about. —
B/714 sure did have an excel-
lent turnout for the reunion
and if every company in the
714th would do likewise we
would have to have two hoteis
to accommodate them. I real-
ly have to say that B Co. did
a marvelous job in getting
their members out and I am
going to have to work on these
other companies to do like-
wise. Congratulations to Mur-
ray and Edith Sellers (D) on
the arrival of a new Hellkitten.
I think we should take a check
and see which unit is the big-
gest familywise.
I received a wonderful report
on B Co. activities at ithe re-
union and am inserting it into
this report as I received it. I
think it is very well written.
"As usual the 714th was well
represented at St. Louis, how-
ever Bibby Quici lost a bet to
Herb Pinno of the 134th. These
two have a standing bet of
twenty-five cents per name on
the register. It was a good
race and Bibby's losses were
not too great.
Bill Koenig and family at-
tended their first reunion. Bill
and Pat drove down from Fair-
fax, S.D. with their three small
children and a nephew. It was
a real pleasure seeing them.
Ray and Edith Milner and
of course Hurshel DeHart left
the cool hills of North Caro-
lina to be with us. Since the
Milner children now have all
enjoyed a reunion plans are
already made for next year - -
by the children. Ray and Hur-
shel saw the Cardinals play
four games in St. Louis. They
were not happy that they drop-
ped a double header but I thmK
they enjoyed every inning of
the reunion.
It has been a few years since
we have had the pleasure of
meeting again with "Bill" and
Berni Goad. Time hasn't
changed that perpetual smile
on "Bills" face. He looked very
trim. I understand he keeps
in shape by opening and clos-
ing garage doors. That pretty
little lady with them was their
daughter.
Kettler said that Adam and
Betty Beckadic would make it
and they did. They were
crowded for time but they just
had to be there.
Charlie and Cass Fricker af-
ter missing a couple of get to-
gethers did make it and I hope
Charlie can stay out of his
mother-in-laws hair especially
around convention time.
Bob and Eleanor Hunt join-
ed us again this year. This
guy never seems to change.
Wny don't he get fat or lose
some hair? — Who's jealous?
Merle and Evelyn Loomis
just as cute as ever with their
family. That is a real good-
looking family.
Then there was Durward
Jackson and his girl friend
Betty. This was his first re-
union. He couldn't be with us
all of the time but I am sure
he enjoyed the time he did
spend with us. I speak for all
of "B" Co. when I say we
were certainly happy to see
him again.
A big moment for us at the
dinner dance was the phone
call from Dave Arburn in San
Francisco. Everyone comment-
ed on the thoughtfulness of this
call. It was like having Dave
and Evelyn there with us.
That five foot hunk of dyna-
mite that you saw on the dance
floor was Vince Caulfield and
his wife. I said wife! The little
stinker finally settled down and
has a four month old baby
to keep him just that way. He
and Margaret I am sure had
an enjoyable time.
Harold Keefer flew in from
Pittsburgh. He is another guy
who never seems to get fat
or lose any hair. One of these
days this boy is going to get
married and then things will
be different.
Last but by far not the least
we all have to commend Harry
Kettler for the job that he did.
Ginny and Harry had many
anxious moments before the
convention. They turned their
home into the "Kettler Hilton"
for about twelve Hellcats and
that in itself is doing a lot. Its
little to say "Well done Har-
ry" but as a member of the
714th we are grateful and
proud. We must extend our
thanks also to Charlie Ruma
and Gerald Mullen for a job
well done."

think Harold Hendricks is do-
ing a fine job as Unit Repres-
entative."
BOY WE MADE A
BUBU
It is all Frank Nestico's
fault. Yes, he is to blame for
your editor listing our treasur-
er Nick Hardony as being with
D&E/92 instead of C/56 in the
lead article of the September
Hellcat News. For the past
seven years the name Frank
Nestico has cropped up so
many times in the secretary's
minuLes that he must have
thought he was still writing hL>
minutes when he wrote up the
article. Now in order to do a
complete job of mixing things
up the printer must have de-
cided to get into the act too
when he misspelled Loretta
Ave. He called it Loreeta which
is Spanish. We take this oppor-
tunity to apologize to our very
capable treasurer Nicholas J.
Hardony (C/56) of 10113 Lor-
etta Ave. Cleveland, Ohio.
MEN! THIS IS IT!
Remember this phrase at
Camp Shanks? Remember
what happened after you heard
that statement? You found
yourself on the Marine Raven
headed for Europe. However
this time the phrase will not
take you somewhere it will
take something away from you.
What we are referring to is
your membership in this won-
derful association of ours. We
are sending those of you who
have not paid your dues as yet
the October issue because we
feel that no Hellcat really
wants to drop their member-
ship. However we must have
your dues to cover the cost of
printing and mailing future
issues. Remember men! THIS
IS IT!!
Jos. F. McCluggage Jr. (D/92)
24354 Haskell, Taylor, Mich.:
"Sorry we couldn't make St.
Louis. Maybe next year will be
different. Best regards to every-
one."
George L. Kibler (B/495) 2595
Eastwood Drive, Decatur, Ga.:
"Everything O.K. No news —
just paying dues."
Robert M. Gesin (HQ/17) 10-
th Signal Detachment, Home-
stead A.F.B., Fla. 33033: "Sorry
I couldn't make St. Louis be-
cause I have sure had a ball
there a few times in the uast.
Best regards to all the boys."
