Hello Out There,
By this time every one has pro-
bably digested all the Holiday
goodies both solids and liquid and
we hope are none the worse for
it all.
To start the New Year we wish
to give all our attention to mem-
bership. We sincerely thank all
who have paid their dues and give
special thanks to our many
Booster friends. It is most grat-
ifying to us the way our members
have supported the association.
To date we have 121 paid mem-
bers. Our special thanks to our
Sec. Harold who has done a
splended job both in checking
members and keeping us inform-
ed .
Received a very nice note from
Steve Pedrett Jr. "B" Co. (From
his wife Alma) Who informs us
they enjoy the HCN very much
and to give us a change of add-
ress. They are now residing in
Chico, Calif. (West Coast Chapt-
er Note.) Alma states they like
the area and have daughter Vivi-
an plus their grandson Frankie
at home. Son-in-law Frank Bedirie
is now serving in Vietnam. The
Pedretts wish all a happy new
year.
We received a master piece
from Frank P. O'Reilly photostat
and all plus a very cute quotation.
Plus the statement Dear Joker
Whats Up. Frank also has a new
member for us namely Bernard
Sarkin Hq. Co. who resides at
208 Haddon Road, Syracuse. N.
Y. Frank installed Barnard for
three years. Harold will have to
fill me in on the extra Buck for
our troubles which was Franks
Quote. Thanks a million Frank
for the letter and for your help.
Note to Steve Pedrett "Get in
touch with Melvin H. Daskel 240

Weiss "C" who now resides at

the get together in Feb. And
might see Millie Kaminski before
that. Give her our best Ed.
Received a very nice note from
Bob Patterson "A" Co. Who en-
joys the HCN but seldom sees
news about A, Co. (See above
Bob.) Bob would like to hear
from Jim Casserly. Bob Kas two
"Chihuhuas, Opie and Opelina and
"But Captain, the tank's fender got banged up as this
women pulled out of the shopping center in Smyrna, Tenn."

Ryan, Mike Jabbour, Chris Mug-
avero, Joe Buttogi, A1 Mester and
the rest of you Easterners to
start contacting some of your
buddies so the 23rd can have a
real turnout at the reunion.
John Burdzy (Sv-23 & 66th)
wrote a nice newsy letter (In the
roster he is listed under the 66th).
He and Helen have two boys,
John, 14 and Brian, 8 and is em-
ployed at Bendix Aviation. He
mentioned seeing John Hasko
(43rd), Gerald Lapri (43rd) and
Louis Tokash (Sv-23), 45 Roose-
velt Ave., East Paterson, N. J.
07407. Also Paul Master and
Edward Capone, both of the 17th.
(Editor's n°te: Thanks John, none
of these boys are in file.)
This seems to indicate a large
a wife Mary. Bob is the assistant
secretary of his corp. which is
the largest Hop grower and dealer
in the world. Bob said he makes
his own beer from a secret form-
ula he acquired in Germany.
Clinton Nodland, Halliday, No.
Dak. 58636 writes he enjoys the
HCN very much and how could
anyone ever forget the Good Old
Twelveth.
Just received nejvs that our
past president, Bill Johnson has

A big welcome to a new mem-
ber, Harry L. Beeth (B-23), 21
Alden Ave., Syosset, N. Y.
I 1791. Boy, does Harry's name
bring back memories of 1st Sgt.
Brinker and Don Dietz. Imagine
I'll see Dietz and Beeth in Phil-
adelphia but how can we get hold
of Brinker?
It was sure nice to hear from
Fred Hancock (D-23) . Fred was
the 23rd unit rep before he push-
ed the job onto me. Also a letter
from Casper Burgener (B-23) .
1 didn't get a chance to look up
Casper when I was down to visit
my son, Tim, when he was sta-
tioned in Granite City on his re-
turn from Okinawa. Tim is now
at Fort Ord, Calif.
Walter Breisacher, (A-23) was
heard from via his wife, Irene.
Guess he's the strong, silent type
for after all these years of married
life, Irene didn't know his com-
pany or battalion.
Wendall Morgan (Sv-23) writes
he and the family are all doing
well in Trego, Wis. I remember
Wendall was a Sharpshooter with
the Ml . He shot the canopy off
my weapons carriers near St.
Avoid. Wow! What a night.

DASHES
Received a nice letter from
Don Scott of Shawnee, Kansas.
He has never been able to make
a reunion as yet but still has
hopes. Meanwhile he is enjoying
his Hellcat News very much. He
has been in the barrel business
since 1946. He works with a
crew of eight men under him who
take used barrels and clean them
up for use again. The Scott s have
two boys and a girl. T"he daught-
er who was with them at Campbell
now has four children of her own.
One boy goes to college and the
other boy is in junior high. They
both love and excel in sports. Don
and his wife enjoy square dancing
and they are members of a square
dancing club. Boy anybody who
goes in for square dancing must
be a little younger than I am.
Last summer they visited Camp
Barkeley and Abilene. Abilene
has changed like most cities and
all that's left of the camp is roads
and foundations.
I received a telephone call from
Charles Gregg (Band) who was
attending a Swift & Co. meeting
in Chicago. He has a new home
in Cazenovia, N. Y. right on
Cazenovia Lake.
Bob Hickman of Madison,
Tennessee is as busy as ever
Working on his first million which
he should be hitting pretty soon.
He was inquiring about Frank
Krol's address which the secret-
ary probably has on file.
Frank Devers of New York, N.
Y. writes "Give me one good
reason why I can't make Philadel-
phia for at least Saturday night.
I can't thing of one and God will-
ing I'll be there.'
Bill Beardsely of Dresden, N.
Y. has renewed his membership.
Glad to see you signed up again,
Bill.
Virginia Kropff has moved to
4731 NE 17 th Ave., Pompano
Beach, Fla. 33064.
As for news about myself we
have been very busy taking in the
soybeans. We will be harvesting
a tremendous crop because of the
amount of rain we had.
I want to take this opportunity
to wish you all a very happy,
healthy and prosperous New
Year. Let us resolve to do all
that we can for as long as we
can to keep this wonderful as-
sociation of ours strong and act-
ive .
