The next was a "1st year book"
for Kelly and the 3rd was an
"Alphabet Picture Book" for
Kelly. I am about done with a
book of eats, dogs and cuddly
animals for Lindsay who will
be 3 in Feb. So you see, I keep
busy. It does get lonesome at
times but I have so much to be
thankful for. I'd love to see all
you fine people in San Antonio
but it won't happen. My last
CAT SCAN showed the cancer
is shrinking. Be the Good Lord
Willing, it will all go away!
Thanks to all for their prayers,
cards and concern. I do really
appreciate them. Love, Dutch."
Goodies from Dutch's Collec-
tions: Question: What should
you do if you see a 500 pound
shaggy dog in your kitchen?
Answer: EAT OUT!

went to Ray Horn's funeral.
Earl and Marge Norris (A/714)
and Dick and Betty Bucy (D/92)
were also there. The minister
did a nice thing. He had the
three of us come forward and
stand as a honor guard for Ray.
We were proud to do this. He
didn't have a military funeral."

Our hot and humid wether is
still better than shoveling
snow. I read where the Conk-
lins and Kridners were at the
Eastern. Maybe next year we
can finally meet. They came to
Hastings a few years ago to
visit but unfortunately we
weren't at home. We did talk to
them on the phone at our
daughters.
Will try to gather more news
for the next letter. How about
you other people helping Ernie
out by sending a note and some
news? ("Dugan" - thanks for
your last thought. In answer to
your query - On the way.)

Proposed Constitutional Amendment
In line with ARTICLE VII, Section 1 of our Constitution, the
following revisions to our Constitution will be presented to the
membership for a vote, at the San Antonio, Texas Reunion:
ARTICLE //, Section 2 - ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIPS:
CURRENT WORDING: "A spouse and children of a deceas-
ed member of the 12th Armored Division, and persons who
have demonstrated an interest in the perpetuation of the
name of the 12th Armored Division, may be accepted into
membership in the Association . .
PROPOSED WORDING: A spouse and children of a
deceased member of the 12th Armored Division, may be
accepted into membership in the Association ..."
The proposal would eliminate the wording "and persons
who have demonstrated an interest in the perpetuation of the
name of the 12th Armored Division," to eliminate confusion.
The original intent was to honor those who demonstrated an
interest in the association over a long period of time, but in
many instances it was utilized as a means of obtaining member-
ships for those who would not qualify as spouses or children of
deceased members.
If the above proposal is approved, it will be effective the
date it is voted into effect. Thus, it will have no affect on
associate memberships in effect prior to the date of the
revision.
ARTICLE IV, Section 1 ELECTIVE OFFICERS:
CURRENT WORDING: "The association shall, at its annual
reunion, elect the following officers by plurality vote:"
PROPOSED WORDING: "The association shall, at its
annual reunion, elect the following officers by majority vote . .
Webster's Dictionary describes the word "Plurality" as
"the excess of votes in an election that the leading candidate
has over his nearest rival." The word "Majority" is described
as "the excess of the larger number of votes cast for one
candidate, over all the rest of the votes." Thus, with a majority
vote, the candidate would have to receive in excess of 50% of
the entire vote.
Both of the above proposed amendments to our Constitu-
tion have been discussed by the Executive Council (in their K.
C., MO meetings). A two-thirds (2/3rds) affirmative vote of the
members present at the reunion meetings will be required for
these amendments to pass.
Respectfully submitted
Norbert H. Bruemmer
Executive Secretary
