WILLIAMSON COL STY
In PJ18, the people of Willamson
County were generous enough to
elect me as the r Representative to
It he State Legislature and have per-
mitted me to retain that position
without opposition since that t me.
The expressed confidence and the co-
operation has' inspired me to the
highest degree of honorable service
that I was able to render. If I have
succeeded in serving you well, it
j has been because. uL.the splendid en-
courageitient that has been given me.
I have enjoyed every day that I have
| spent in the legislature because it
has been 'interesting and instructive.
In add i ton to that. it. has afforded a
fine opportunity for service.
While in the legislature, my .•<>!-
leagu have honored me bey ml .my
; just deserts and have, placed me in a
position to do the very- best work
•possible while a. member of the
House. I have, at all times, en-
deavored to conduct the affairs of
\ the office in such a way as would
, reflect credit upon the people I rep-
resented. I have tried, at all times,
to keep before me the thought that
a public office.is a public trust, realiz-
ing the fa''t that the trust imposed
j in me belonged to the citizenship of
I my County and State. I am moving
to Austin, and, therefore becoming a
citizen of Travis County, and „n1y
i purpose n moving here is to educate
my daughter and to accept the posi-
- tion as Secretary of the Highway
Comm. . therefore, I am handing
to (5o\ert.!or Moody, today, my resig-
nation a - a Representative of the
Eighty third District, which is com-
posed of Williamson County.
I deeply regret that I am unable to
remam' ;n.; the legislature, ,because it
afford- an opportunity for useful and
unselfish service, but :nasmu\i as I
am now >w\- ng my fifth term. I feel
that, it i- not(tingbut justice to my-
-elf -and family that I should accept
the position as Secretary of the
H ghway Commission because it will
•assist 'me in tin* education of my
young daughter, and at the same
time I will nave a smaTI^pn'rt in the
building of a great system of state
highways.
I wish to thank the people of Will-
'smsfin..County, and of the State, for
the many courtesies. and kind con-
sideration-- that they have extended
me, and hope that. I will be able to
continue to serve them in a satisfac-
tory and useful Juanner.
With bestwishes for the suc.ess
and happiness of the people of my.
county, I am
Sincerely yours.

25-CENT COTTON SURE
SOON. TERRELL HOLDS
Austin, Texas, Sept. 2.1.—Cotton
is almost certain to bring 25 cents a
pound soon, after the next govern-
ment est imate is released. George |
B. Terrell, state, eonnnssioner • of
agriculture said today.
Terrell said five state agricultural j
commissioners, with whom he con-
ferred in New Orleans, agreed unamij
ously that cotton would go to a
h gher price.
He urged the farmers of the state;
to refuse to sell for less than 2 Be.. ' ,

produced in his own sod and with his
own labor. You can't get around a

The most common saying in a small
community like this is "I want to
pay my doctor and drug bill because
I never know when I'll be sick, and
when I get sick, I sure need both for
my family." The average man can
pay a small account if he tries. So,
come in Saturday and get our little
account out of your way and I know
you will feel tetter.
Has Picked 70 Bales

I.. L. Hill, .on.e_.of Granger's most
extensive and successful cotton grow-

70th bale, and if good fortune favors
him, lie will get twenty-one more.
"1'ticle Lump" always manages to
raise cotton and is an authority on
cotton, cultivation and farm manage-
