Felmont Brings

In New
Gaines
Wildcat
County
Felmont Oil Corporation has
apparently brought in another
wildcat in Southern Gaines
county. The new well, from the
Devonian, was drilled to 13,000
feet. The well. No. 1 Terrell CSL,
is located about two miles south-
east from the wildcat brought in
by the Rowan Oil Co., about two
months ago.
The test was taken from Li,• _
674-12,700 feet and was left open)
for two hours eight minutes. The
2,670-fuot water blanket flowed
out in 43 minutes, oil and gas-cut
water blanket surfaced in 58
minutes, and clean oil came to
the top in 65 minutes. It was let
flow to pits to clean for three
minutes.
When turned to tanks, the
well flowed 53.67 barrels of oil
during the first 30 minutes and
54.8 barrels of oil during Hie sec-
ond 30 minutes. Production was
through a 5/8-inch top-hole
choke and there were no indica-
tions of water.
After the tool was closed oper-
ator reversed out 180 barrels of
oil from the drill pipe. Total oil
recovery on the test was 288.5
barrels of oil. Open bottom hole
flowing pressure ranged from 2,-
600-4,975 pounds and 30-minute
shut-in pressure was 5,425
pounds.
Top of the Devonian was pick-
ed at 12,675 feet on an elevation
of3,126 feet, derrick floor. Top
of the Devonian is 60 feet low to
the same marker at the Rowan
et al No. 1 Stanton-Brunson,
opener of the Amrow-Devonian
field, which is 2 miles to the
southwest of the current project.
The felmont prospector is also
8% miles east of the Bottonfieid-
Wolfcamp pool. At last report
preparations were under way to
drill ahead 35 feet and take an-
other drillstem test.
Location is 660 feet from
south and east lines, of Labor
15, League 309, Terrell CSL Sur-
vey, 13 miles southeast of Sem-
inole.
