been: "Accent the positive!" In
other words, put the emphasi9
on spreading the positive facts
about the American way of life.
BEST DEFENSE
We must continue to expos-?
and root out the leftwing propa-
ganda, but at the same time the
btst defense, as the footba'l
coach says, is ' good offense."
The best authorities in America

the Leftwing lorces is to under-

how much goes for labor, how
much for taxes, and how little
for dividends; and giving them
the broader story of the Ameri-
can system.
At the community level the in-
dividual and the local group
should be carrying the Ameri-
canism facts to the citizens
through speeches, through radio
and television, through forums,
study and discussion gjoups and
in many other ways. In our Na-
tional Education Program work-
shop at Searcy we have available
many educational materials. We
have developed a dramatized def-
inition of the "American way of
life" which is acceptable in all
walks of life. It is available in
printed form.
i
A GOAL
Every citizen should take an
active interest in the public
schools. Here's a statement made
by the Attorney General of the
United States a few years ago:
"The FBI has learned that the
Communists have started a cam-1
paign to recruit our children to
their ideology. The younger they j
are, the better." Trying to lead
our children toward acceptance I
of socialistic policies is a first
strategic step of the Leftwing-j
ers. We must watch for and re-j
sist these efforts, but the empha-
sis in our work should lie placed
on inculcating our children with
the facts about our American
way.
If we "vaccinate our oncoming
generations of children with the
positive facts about our system,
its great advantages over any
other system known, the young-
sters then would form the great-
est force we could possibly mus-
ter for the preservation of our
basic principles which have giv-
en us individual freedom and a
living standard unmatched in |
world history. It is the citizen's
obligation to work effectively to-
ward this educational goal.
