that an election will be held in and
throughout Mnrkham Municipal
Utility District of Matagorda Coun-
ty, Texas, on the 15th day of De-
cember, 1962, in keeping with the
following Order adopted by the
Board of Directors of said Dis-
trict, to-wit:

COUNTY OF MATAGORDA
The Board of Directors of Mark-
ham Municipal Utility District of
Matagorda County, Texas, met in
special session at the regular meet-
ing place within said District on
the 12th day of November, 1962,
■with the following members pres-
ent, to-wit;
Leo Neuszer, Jr., President; R.
E. Roecker, Vice President; Billie
M. Williams, Secretai'y; Henri M.
Duplissey, Director; W. E. Coulee,
Jr., Director, and the following
members absent, to-wit: none, when
the following business was trans-
acted ;
Director Duplissey introduced an
order and moved its adoption. The
motion was seconded by Director
Williams and carried by the follow-
ing vote: AYES: Directors Neus-
zer, Roecker, Williams, Duplissey
and Conlee. NOES: None. The
■order thus adopted follows:
WHEREAS, Markham Municipal
Utility District of Matagorda Coun-
ty, Texas, has been duly organized,
and there has been filed in the of-
fice of the District an engineer's
report covering the plant and im-
•provements to be constructed, to-
gether with maps, profiles and data
■showing and explaining same, and
said report has been carefully con-
sidered by such Board, and same
lias been fully approved by said
Board; and
WHEREAS, said plant and im-
provements are designed to furnish
a waterworks and sanitary sewer
•system for service within said Dis-
trict, and such District has expect-
ancy for net revenues from the op-
eration of such waterworks and
■sanitary sewer system; and
WHEREAS, the said engineer's
report heretofore filed and approv-
ed contains an estimate of the cost
of the proposed plant and improve,
ments, as follows, to-wit:
Purchase of land and rights-of-
way $2,000.00
Construction of waterworks sys-
tem $124,363.00
Construction of sanitary sewer
system $96,578.00
Legal, fiscal and organization
expense $5,000.00
Engineering expense $17,675.00
Interest during construction (12
months) $12,384.00
Miscellaneous and contingencies
$7,000.00
TOTAL ESTIMATED COST
$265,000.00
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Di-
rectors finds that the above esti-
mate of $265,000 is reasonable and
proper and hereby approves the
same and all items thereof; and
WHEREAS, this Board of Di-
rectors is of the opinion that an
election should be held for the pur-
pose of submitting to the duly
qualified electors of said District
who own taxable property within
said District and who have duly
rendered the same for taxation the
proposition of the issuance of bonds
in the total aggregate amount of
$265,000; therefore

2. That the ballots for said elec-
tion shall conform to Chapter 6 of
the Election Code of the State of
Texas, Chapter 292, Acts of the
52nd Legislature of Texas, 1951,
as amended, so far as applicable,
and, in addition to the requirements
of said Chapter, shall have printed
thereon the following:

The voter shall vote on such
proposition by scratching or mark-
ing out the expression he does not
wish to vote for, thus leaving the
one not so scratched or marked
out as indicating his vote on such
proposition in accordance with said
Election Code, as amended.
3. That the boundaries of said
District shall constitute one elec-
tion precinct, and the following
named persons are hereby appoint-
ed officers of said election;
W. G. King, Presiding Judge
Mrs. Jim Perry, Assistant Judge
Mrs. Chester Kee, Clerk
Said election shall be held and
conducted and returns made to
this Board of Directors in accord-
ance with the provisions of the
General Election laws of the State
of Texas as modified by the pro-
visions of Chapter 25, Acts of the
Regular Session of the 39th Leg-
islature, 1925, together with all
amendments and additions thereto.
Only duly qualified resident elec-
tors who own taxable property
within said District and who have
duly rendered the same for tax-
ation shall be qualified to vote at
said election.
4. That the President and Secre-
tary of this Board of Directors are
hereby authorized and directed to
cause notice of said election to be
published once a week for four (4)
consecutive weeks in a newspaper
having general circulation in Mat-
agorda County, Texas, the first of
which publications shall be at least
twenty-eight (28) days before the
date of said election.
