Dates To Register At
Wharton Jr. College
WHARTON—With preregistra-
tion for the fall semester at Whar-
ton County Junior College at its
midway date, Dr. W. G. McAlex-
ander, registrar at the junior col-
lege, reminds all prospective junior
pollege students that there are
only three more scheduled dates on
which these students may take the
junior college entrance examina-
tion—Saturday, August 24; Mon-
day, September 2; and Saturday,
September 14.
All tests will begin promptly at
8 a.m. and will be finished by 10
a.m. All students planning to ma-
jor in mathematics, engineering, or
science will take an additional ex-
amination to be finished by 11:30
a.m. Students who have previously
taken the American College Test or
the College Entrance Examination
Board Test do not have to take
the junior college test.
Dr. McAlexander advises the fu-
ture junior college student that no
minimum score is presently requir-
ed at WCJC. The examinations are
given so that the scores may be
used in counseling and guidance of
the students. The test scores are
used however, when the studeni
transfers to a senior college—if
the student makes a sufficiently
high seore, then he will not have
to take another examination at the
college or university to which he
transfers.
