H Clubs held their County Dress
Revue on July 26, at. the Central
Power and Light Company Service
Center in Bay City.

Lane 4-H Club, Skirt, Red Ribbon;

Point Comfort. All of these girls
are in the Junior Division.
The girls exhibiting in the Senior

Ribbon; Ginger Hamilton, Cedar
Lane 4-H Club, Party Dress, Blue
Ribbon; Joyce Johnson, Markham,
Markham 4-H Club, Best Dress,

Ribbon; Linda Dillard, Round-Up
4-H Club, Best Dress, Blue Ribbon.
The girls selected to represent
Matagorda County at the District
Dress Revue August 2 in Richmond
are Linda Dillard and Fay Ann
Junek. Linda Dillard is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Dillard,
Star Route, Palacios; Fay Ann is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Junek, El Maton.
Those attending the Dress Re-
vue were Mrs. Vencil Andel, Danny
and Georgia, Mrs. A. W. Hurta,
Mrs. A. L. Loff, Sue Hamilton,
Mrs. Jim Hamilton, Mrs. Don Ross,
Mrs. Walter Hamilton, Mrs. George
Ratliff, Mrs. Samuel Burford, Mrs.

ARE WED IN KINGSVILLE CEREMONY
Miss Janice Ryon and Harvey
Howard Becker exchanged wed-
ding vows at the First Christian
Church in Kingsville, Saturday,
July 7 at 7 p.m. with the Rev.
Martin E. Pike, Jr., officiating at
the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. Edwin F Ryon of Kings-
ville and granddaughter of Mr. and
Mrs. R. C. Huddleston of Pa-
lacios. The groom's parents are Mr.
and Mrs. Howard W. Becker of
Bishop.
Mrs. Rubye Ford Hauser was or-
ganist and Mrs. Ronald Greathouse
soloist.
The chancel setting was deco-
rated with floor backets of yellow
roses and white stock flanked with
candelabra holding cathedral ta-
pers. An arrangement of yellow
roses adorned the baptistry.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride chose an afternoon length
dress n ivory pure silk fashioned
with fitted bodice and petal point
sleeves of pearl trim peau de'ange
lace. The peau de soie bell skirt
was accented by a soft carriage
back interest starting from a self
fabric bow. A princess crown of
pearls held her ivory pure silk illu-
sion veil and she carried a ball-
shaped bouquet of yellow roses.
Mrs. Alfred Shafer was her sis-
ter's matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Mrs. A. M. Cook, and Miss
Judy Ryon and Miss Cynthia

Ryon. sisters of the bride.
They wore identical dresses of
nile green silk fashioned with a
fitted bodicc with scoop neckline
and petal shaped skirt. The head-
piece was a bow hat and they car-
ried nosegays of yellow roses and
white stock.
Patti Holt of Palacios was flow-
er girl. She wore a white silk over
green dress and carried a basket
filled with yellow rose petals. Rod-
ney Shafer, nephew of the bride,
was ring bearer.
Alfred Shafer was best man.
Groomsmen were Bobby C. Rich
and Roy Zeischang of Bishop and
Kenneth Richter of Agua Dulce.
Ushers were John Dube of Bishop,
Ronnie Ryon, brother of the bride
and Johnny Huddleston, cousin of
the bride.
Candlelighters were Dick Hud-
dleston, cousin of the bride and
Glen Becker, brother of the groom.
The bride's mother more a beige
knit dress with orange and beige
accessories and a green orchid cor-
sage. The groom's mother wore a
blue silk dress with blue and white
accessories and a pink orchid cor-
sage.
Immediately after the ceremony
a reception was held at The Village
Restaurant. The bride's table was
laid with a white net cloth and en-
hanced with an arrangement of
yellow roses and white stock. The
groom's table was laid with a white
handmade crochet cloth and center-
ed with an arrangement of yellow
candles.
After a wedding trip to New Or-
leans, the couple is at home in
Kingsville. For traveling the bride
wore a blue silk dress with blue
and white accessories.
Included in the out of town
guests were Mr. and Mrs. R. C.
Huddleston, Mr. and Mrs. Billy
Holt, Chipper and Patti, and Mr.
and Mrs. K. D. Huddleston of Pa-
lacios; Mrs. Alvin Williams of
Bay City and Mrs. C. A. Newton
of San Antonio.

Notice To Bidders
Notice is hereby given that the
Board of Trustees of the Palacios
Independent School District will
accept sealed bids up to 8:00 p.m.,
Monday, August 13, 1962, for the
furnishing of gasoline and oil for
school use during the 1962-63
school year. The successful bidder
will be given a one-year contract
and will be required to furnish and
install a suitable underground tank
and pump to be installed by Sep-
tember 1, 1962.
The Board of Trustees reserves
the right to reject any and all bids,
or to accept the bid they consider
to the best advantage of the school
district.
Given in pursuance of an order
passed by the Board of Trustees
at a regular meeting held on the
9th day of July, 1962.

E. B. Hogg and his son, Lee Roy
Hogg, of near Palacios art* defer-
ring the grazing on one of their
range pastures this summer to al-
low the climax grasses of little
bluestem and Indian grass to de-
velop vigorous plant growth and
to produce seed.

Boyd Foltyn has a 30 acre field
of soy beans that have made good
growth. He is growing the soy
beans for hay production and is
using them in rotation with other
field crops as a part of his con-
servation cropping system. Foltyn's
farm is located east of Tintop.
