Bay City Saturday visiting with
their daughter and husband Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Wayne Rhymes.
Mr. and Mrs. Goose Franzen and
children were guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Teddy Slone of Edna this past
Sunday.
This reporter's aunt, Mrs. Tootsie
Kerbow, is confined to Matagorda
General Hospital. We wish her a
speedy recovery.
Dean Merck is on jury duty this
week in Bay City.
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ware spent
the week-end in Cuero with her
daughter and family, the James
Slones.
Mrs. Addie Foster visited the
Jack Bullintftons Wednesday after-
noon.
Happy birthday to Derril Fran-
zen who celebrated his fifth birth-
day this past week.
Also happy birthday to Nancy
McMillian. Nancy, who was 9 years
old celebrated with a slumber party
at her home.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wells, Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Ackerman, Alex and
Goose Franzen, all visited Mrs.
Hattie Kundinger and Stanley
Wright at Oak Manor Nursing
Home in El Campo this past week.
Both seem to be doing right well.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lipensky and
family and the Raymond Lipenskys
all of Houston spent the weekend
here at their summer places. Paul
is rebuilding his fishing pier that
was destroyed by Hurricane Carla.
The Women of the Church will be
hostesses here at the Presbyterian
Church for the District I meeting
on March 3rd.
Mrs. L. C. Smith attended the
9th District Postmasters' meeting
held in Brazoria, Sunday.
Rev. Jim Sharp of Austin filled
the pulpit at the First Presbyter-
ian Church last Sunday.
Mrs. W. L. Ellis, who fell and
injured her knee, is now home from
Wagner General Hospital. She is
getting around on crutches but
will not be able to get back to her
teaching at Palacios for another
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Williams of
Pasadena were down this past week
end fishing at Oyster Lake but
no luck. Tides were too low. They
did go home with some nice oysters
they gathered there.
Lyn and Gail Leftwich of South
Houston were here this week visit-
ing the Jack Bullingtons, and in
Bay City visiting the O. F. Rays,
and other friends and relatives.
Guests of the Fred Roeslers dur-
ing this past week were Mr. and
Mrs. Stan Ward and sons, Mr. and
Mrs. G. R. Hendrix and family all
of Houston, also Mr. and Mrs. Clif-
ford Mozley and son of Cut-Off,
La. and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Bar-
xiett of Jeannette, La.
Mr. and Mrs. V. E. Smith and
children of Cleveland were here
over the week-end visiting his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Smith and
family.

me by the City Council of the City
of PaJacios, Texas I hereby call an
election to be held in the said
City of Palacios in the old Bayview
Hospital on the first Tuesday of
April, 1964, the same being the
7th day thereof, for the purpose of
electing the following City Officials
for a term of two years:
Mayor, Two Aldermen, Secretary,
Attorney, Treasurer and City Re-
corder.
The election shall be held under
the general laws of the State of
Texas providing for the election of
City Officers.
All persons qualified to vote un-
der the general laws of this state
and who are residents and citizens
of Palacios are qualified to vote
at this election.
