went to Bay City to meet Mrs.

of Portland, Oregon, who ex-
pects to spend the winter here.

Cross and boosting for the Carn-
ival, be resolving to help build
the Liberty Memorial. The slo-

Gordon Davis, who spent the
past month in Houston, returned
home Saturday. He doesn't re-
port an enjoyable vacation, as he
was ill most of the time while
away. After all there is no place
like Palacios except for the doc-
tors.

Mrs. C. B. McGuire and Miss
Lastrow of Victoria who had
bsen in Palacios visiting the fa-
mily of the former's brother,Mr.
J. C. Wilkinson for several days,
returned to their home Tuesday
morning.
