Early Chest contributions total $102
Albany Chest figures rang up
at $1,025 as of Tuesday this
week, leaving local residents and
businesses less than two months
to raise the $20,000 still needed
to meet the 2005 goal.
Letters are being mailed to
prospective donors by the end of
this month.
"We are confident that Shack-
elford County residents and
other donors will respond once
the letters go out," commented
Chest board president Donna
Schkade.
Schkade pointed out that con-
tributions to the Albany Chest
stay here in Albany or are used
strictly to benefit local residents.
"What's special about the Al-
bany Chest is that anyone can
help. You don't have to have a
six or nine-figure income to make
a difference."
She encouraged those who
normally make a contribution,
along with new prospects, to go
ahead and send in their dona-
tions. "Don't wait for a letter;
give now!"
The Albany Chest set the
$21,026 goal last month to help
13 different organizations meet-
ing their budgets for 2005.
The campaign will end in mid-
December, with the funds to be
distributed before Christmas.
Donations can be given to
Jana McCoy at First National
Bank or mailed to Albany Chest,
PO Box 157, Albany TX 76430.
