all very proud of them,"
said Coach Denny Faith.
Clint Duggan led the
Cubs with 10 points,
followed by Rodney
Browning, Chris Beard,
nd Brad Patterson with
six points each.
"Winters was the first
man to man defense we
have had to play this year,
but we did well against'
them," he said.
Faith thanked the fans
for the continuous sup
port of the junior high
program during the
season.

week, while the boys
came back to beat Fast
land Friday night.
The girls ended their
season with a 49 IH loss to
Hawley. Tanya Anderson
scored six points for the
Lionet tes, followed by
Bonnie Campbell with
four points,
"The girls started out
.slow and we were playing
without two of our key
players," explained Coach
Nema West moland.
"I^hc boys lost to Haw
ley fif) 3M in a game of in
consistance, according to
Coach Kevin Stanford.
Jimmy Cooper hit for
15 points, followed bv Ken
.Jones with seven points
and Jerry Middlehrook
with six points.
"We got into font trou
ble early in t he game and
had a one point first
quarter. We just couldn't
make up for it," said
Stanford.
In Friday's 45 40 win
over Fast land, Nick
Wirsdorfer led the sco'r
i n g with 13 points.
Middlebrook tallied 10.
points, Jones had eight
points and Lance Hawley
had six points.
"We shot 36 percent
from the field, which is
our highest of the year,"
stated Stanford. "They
played an excellent ball
game, gaining confidence
in the program and each
other."
The Albany Lions lost
two district games last
week, but Albany coach
William Kinnison stated
that they "played the best
of the year" last Tuesday
night against Hawley iri a
closely fought battle.
The Hawley team held
out for the <>8 62 win
against the Lions,, leaving
Albany 0 12 in district
play. Kddie Wheeler led
the scoring attack with 18
points, followed by Jessie
Chavarria with I t points
and Paul Ivy with nine
points
The Lions shot 36 per
cent from t he field and 61
percnt from the free
throw line during the
bout.
Thursday night was not
as promising for the Lions
as they were trounced by
the Rastland Mavericks
H2 50.
Chavarria scored 14
points and Billy Hill hit
for II points for the
Lions. Albany shot 60 per
cent of their free throws
