noon practices on Thursday in
order to become accustomed to
the afternoon heat, as well ac-
commodate classroom schedules
starting next Tuesday.
Lion Strengths
Coach Faith stated that he
has seen several strong points
over the last two weeks.
"One of our biggest assets will
be the l(i seniors we have on the
team most of whom are re
turning starters
Faith noted the experience
the Lions will have on the offen-
sive line including returning
starters Rob I lawkins, Clay Sny-
der, Adam Skelton ahd Jason
Kifenburg. The foursome will be
joined by (-lint Shack, who had
to sit out last year due to a leg
injury. "We are going to have
some maturity on the line."
Likewise;, tlu; Lions' tailback
and fullback, as well as three
receivers, are also seniors and
bring a lot of experience! to the
huddle with them.
"We have 10 good player;: re-
turning on offense who have put
in a lot of lime on the field."
The coach is also encouraged
by the defense. "We have a real
intelligent/defense, which moans
we will be able to do a lot of
different kinds of things."
Areas that Faith said the Li-
ons will be workingon more than
others includes timingifndtack .
ling. "We will be spending a lot
of lime on timing and tackling,
especially early in the season."
He com mended the senior
class for taking charge of the
Lions' morale. "We are looking
to them for a lot of help and we
will be only as good as they an'."
The Lions were int roduced to
their fans for the first time at
thte annual ice cream supper on
Monday. The public also toured
the new field house aaiid ath-
letic activity center.
Albany will field a freshman
team again this season, whichis
very beneficial to tlve program.

schedule and we are looking for
two ignore," said Faith. "Having
a .freshman tea in .gets a lot. more
playing tune for both the fresh

pleased with the serving per-
