letters to the editor
— Moran photos needed for website —
Dear Editor:
I'm searching for the owner
of an original copy of a photo of
downtown Moran, probably
taken in 1924. It was included
in an article from one of Al-
bany High School's "Old Timer"
magazines published in the late
1970's.
The article was entitled
"Moran: Past, Present & Fu-
ture" and was written by
Michelle Harris. In this article,,
Michelle interviewed Albert
Morri§.
The photo was a shot of
downtown Moran (Looking
west) with old cars and trucks
parked alongboth sides of Main
Street. There was some activ-
ity going on at the corner of
Moran National Bank with a
convertible passing by,
Michelle, the Moran I Iistori -
cal Museum nor Albert Morris'
daughter knows where this
photo came from. If anyone does,
I would like to make a copy to
scan and place on the Moran
High School Alumni Website.
If anyone has any similar
photos, I would be interested
in making copies of those as
well. My address is P.O. Box
248, Moran, TX 764(54.

Citizen thanks law enforcement
Dear Editor:
Being a concerned citizen
of Albany, I would like to say
thank you to our new sheriff
Richard (Dick).Wagman. Let's
not forget the rest of our local
law enforcement, officers who
played key roles* in what 1
would call the beginning pf
doing away with some of our
drug problems.
We have had drug prob-
lems in our city and county
for a long time. i, for one, am
very glad to see something
being done. i have visited with
some of our taw enforcement,
officers and i can see that
there is a genuine concern. 1
feel* that my children and
grandchildren will have a bet-
ter life as a result of the ac-
tions being taken.
May the good Lord watch
over and keep them safe in
the performance of their du-
ties. Maybe we can rid our-
selves of this problem or make
them go elsewhere.
Thank you, Carl Lucas
