"THE OLD HARDWARE
STORE"
On the corner, is making every effort to
meet the requirements of the trade. We
realize the discouraging circumstances now
existing, caused by the dry weather and
grasshoppers, but we will endeavor to keep
prices in keeping with the times, and as low
as we can afford to make them. We have
a lot of the celebrated HANCOCK Disc
Plows, just the thing for dry weather plow=
ing, will also have some Disc Grain Drills in
time for wheat sowing. Our stock is com=
plete in every department. We have some
good bargains to offerx in BUGGIES and
SEWING MACHINES, as veil as other arti=
cles to numerous to mentit \ Call and get
prices. Yours truly.
Pecan Hunt.
On Saturday, November 9th,
1901, Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Stephens invited the teachers
and students of the Reynolds
Presbyterian Academy of Al-
bany, to spend the day at their
beautiful home four tnil«s east
of Albany. So bright and ear-
ly Saturday morning could be
seen buggies, carriages and
horseback riders wending their
way to the elegant nome of Mr.
and Mrs. Stephens. The pro-
gram for the da}7 was a pecan
hunt. So on their arrival they
were taken in charge by the
host and hostess, and to say
that every o^e enjoyed him-
self does not express it at all.
Mr. and Mrs. Stephens and
their lovely daughter, Miss
Annie, certainly know how to
entertain people.

"Pounding."
On Monday night, Novem-
ber 11th, 1901, Rev. John H.
Helm and family received from
his congregation a gracious
pounding. The members of
the congregation met at the
Baptist church promptly at 7
p. m. and marched in a body
to the residence of their pastor
with a delivery wagon loaded
with everything that was good
}o eat. These donations were
given in token of the love and
appreciation that the congre-
gation have for their pas-
tor and family and if they ex-
perienced as much pleasure in
receiving as the congregation
did in giving, it was certainly
a happy climax.
