At the meeting of Florence
Lodge No 14 A F. & A. M Wed
nesday night, Mr. Thos. F. Pet
tus of Tex., past master of the
lodge 52 years ago, was present
and delivered some higly ap-
preciated remarks of great his-
torical value to the members.
$ much interesting in-
fcion regarding distin-
guish.. SMasons who have pass-
ed over the river, and related
many incidents of the early
days.—Florence (Ala.) Times.
There was quite a number o
the Albany people attended
the meeting at Moran Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Murrie, Mr.
and Mrs. J. A. King and child-
ren, editor and wife, Dr. Z. W.
and wife, Misses Bertha and
Minnie Bizzell, Mr. Brooksey
and Mr. Ben King, Mrs. W. R.
Hammar and children, and Mr.
John Gregg.
Rev. T. J. Talley closed the
revival services at Moran Sun-
day night. There were several
conversions with six additions
to the church, 5 by baptism and
and one by letter. The baptis-
ing took place at M. D. Bray's
tank just at sundown Sunday
evening. Brother Talley says
this was a Bplendid meeting.
While there was not as many
conversions as there might have
been—but the christian people
of Moran were greatly revival.
It is with pleasure that we
place the Bartlett News on our
ex. list. The News is edited
by Miss Maid J. Allen of Bart-
lett Texas. We extend to Miss
Maid the light hand of fellow-
ship as jounalist and congratu-
late her on the make up of her
paper. Her editorial para-
graphs are splendid, and the
tone and air of the News is
permeated with push and get
there. That is right Miss Maid
continue to write about your
town, and your county—chron-
icle the doings of your people
—have faith in your town and
your people—say what you
think about things, but think
before you say it. Dont iiirt
with the politician because
they all have axes to grind.
Have an ideal. Set the mark
high, and when it comes to
principle dont compromiee with
men nor measure.
The editor and the devil done
it all this week. We think it
is right good for a couple of kids
who never set a stick of type
until about one month ago.
E. E. Whitney has been quite
sick this week.
The Qoober Entertain-
ment
One of the novel entertain-
ments of the Season, was the
goober party given Friday
night by Miss Winnie Lynch
at Ijer beautiful home "Fair-
view" seven miles east of town.
When the hour hand pointed to
nine, as indicated on the cards,
the guests began to arrive from
all points of the compass, and
soon the house echoed with the
merry laugh and chatter of the
young folk.
Enlivened by pleasant games
and music, the hours passed
rapidly, and soon the hostess
led the way to the dining room
where awaited an elegant sup-
per, the excellency of which
was fully attested by the jus-
tice rendered it by, the crowd.
All left with the impression
that "Fairview Ranch" was a
very pleasant spot indeed, and
Miss Winnie a most delightful
hostess, for never were people
treated with freer or more gra-
cious hospitality.
The guest of honor was one
of Cisco's charming daughters
Miss Mollie St. John.
The others present were—
Miss Lillian Manning of Stam-
ford.
Misses Mattfe Berryman,
Florence Muse and Willie
Woftord, Messrs. Borrougs,
McLoughlin and Muse of New-
comb.
Misses Alma Arendt, Inaand
Lola Lipscomb, Mary and Jes-
sie Nelson, Messrs. Ben King
J. R. Webb, Frank Nelson,
Brooksey King, Mr. and Mrs.
R. E. Lynch and Mr. and Mrs.
Ellis Richardson of Albany.
