MESQUITE WINS OVER
VTCKERY
Although the Vickery boys'
and girls' teams had only hail
two work-outs, they accepted
the Mesquite challenge last
Friday night but were de
j feated in both games.
The first half of the girls
game was slow, ending with
20-7 in favor of the local team
Evidently Vickery received
the necessary instructions and
encouragement during the
rest period because they cam,>
back into the game with such
vigor and fight that at times
our victory seemed doubtful.
However, the Mesquite girls,
in spite of their difficulty in
staying on their feet, managed
a 2 -18 score.
The efforts of the boys were
unimpaired by the visiting
team. The game ended with a
28-15 score.

WHY
Boy—"Do you know, dad,
that in some parts of Africa a
nian doesn't know his wife un-
til he marries her?"
Dad—"Why single out Af-
rica?"
And here is another story of
child understanding: The busi-
ness man asked his caddie
what his recreation was. The
boy promptly and proudly re-
plied: "Sir. I am a Methodist."
'But.' said the business man,
that is your belief. I mean
have you any particular sport
or hobby; just for example, I
myself am a golfer" To which
the boy replied : "Sir, that is
just your belief."—Ex,
