Show in Classes
The current art show in the
gallery of the Fort Worth Public
Library, "Art in Advertising", is
such an excellent example of good
design and modern art applied in
the commercial field that seeing
the show has become basic in sev-
eral of the,art classes. Last. Thurs-
day the advanced design class met
there to see the show and for lec-
tures upon it by Mr Kellyr Fear-
ing, Friday was TVVC day and the
Freshman art class met in the ;i 1 -
lory.
The show consists of the adver-
tiserr/'nfs of the Container Corpor-
ation of America done by interna-
tional artists such as Kepes, I-og-
er, Bayer, Abbas. Tamayo, and
many others. It demonstrates the
fact that modern art is valuable
to the business .man and that ads
can be made very effective works
of art. Almost all techniques have
been used and even the arrange-
ment of the display is unusual, in-
teresting and practical.
