Fiftieth Wedding
Anniversary Observed
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Driver of
Seminole celebrated their fiftieth
wedding anniversary, August 2H,
In the homo of their son, J. K.
Driver and Mrs. Driver, who live
on a farm 20 miles S. W. of Semi-
nole.
Mr. and Mrs, J, W. Driver have

Basin and a capacity crowd is
expected. Leahy gained national
fame as a football coach while
at Noire Dame and Is also a very
versatile speaker. During the 11
seasons of Ids reign as head
coach at Notre Dame, ho won
87 games with only 11 losses and
had four national championships
to his credit.
Following graduation from
Notre Dame in 1931, Leahy be-
came line coach at Georgetown
University. In 1932 ho became
associated with the coaching
staff at Michigan State and
changed again to Fordham Uni-
versity in 1933. Ho remained at
Fordham until 1938, and from
1939 to 1941 was head coach of
Boston College. He began his
coaching career at Notre Dame
in the fall of 1941 and during that
year was named "Coach of the
Year".
Leahy took time out from his
coaching duties during World
War II to serve his country in
the Navy as recreation director
for submarine combat crews in
the South Pacific. He was dis-
charged in November, 1945 as
Lieutenant, senior grade, and a-
gain resumed his head coaching
duties at Notre Dame. Because
of ill health in 1954, he was forc-
ed to. retire from coaching, thus
ending a coaching career that
carried him to national fame.
The general public Is invited
to this meeting, according to
API officials. The meeting will
start promptly at 6:30 p. m. with
a short business session, follow
ed by Leahy's talk. Arrange-
ments have been tnado to broad-
cast the Rocky Mareiano Archie
Moore fight over the public ad-
