Rev. VV, G. Capertou called at the
News office last Friday morning, and
displayed some bauly torn clothing
and several scratches and bruises on his
body, and related to us his experience
in wristling with a mad cow. lie says
but for the timely aid of some persons
to assist him, he could never have
gotton away from the brute alive.
It seems the oo,v had become unruly
the evening before and was dropped
out pf a herd that was passing through
town on their way to the stock pens,
from where they were shipped Friday.
Mr. Capertou was on his way (o see
his daughter Mrs. Jerry Lynch, and
when near Mrs. Rockwall's residence,
encountered this cow . lie got ho'd of
her horns when she made a lunge at
him, and he managed to hold on for
something like ten <n- fifteen minutes
before assistance reached him. It is
said that at times the cow would have
Mr. C. at least three feet off of the
ground, and she threshed him about
very roughly. We are glad to note
that nothing serious came of the acci-
dent, but can say that Mr. C. had a
very narrow escape.
