Reading mcUiod is used and training
materials are furnished by the West
Texas Library System, of which the
Gaines County Libary is a member.
Wilma Johnson is the local
coordinator, Mary Thornbury,
associate coordinator and Kayc
Fisher is publicist for the group.
The program provides one-to-
one tutoring, daytime or evenings,
while tutor training is available
evenings or weekends.
The local program began in
March of this year and
approximately 40 students arc
currently enrolled. Regular classes
arc held at the Gospel Mcnnonitc
