efforts on the. Cotton Producers
Institute rather than increasing

street." Last Friday/ Saturday and Sunday were moving days
for the Sentinel, with two of the heavy typesetting machines
shown being winched out of the old building at 100 South

Thieves broke into the Midway
Gin between Seagraves and Den-
ver City the night of September
29, taking numerous tools and
other items, Floyd Taylor, Gaines
County Sheriff, reported.
Sheriff Taylor also reported that
the county was hit during the week
with a l-aslt of smaller thefts.
Among the other thefts report-
ed during the week, was a double
entry at the fruit stand immedia-
tely south of the Piggly Wiggly
store, reported by C. C, Connor.
The stand was entered on the
night of September 30, and sopie
honey, milk and Cokes were tak-
en from the ice box. A second en-
try wtfs - reported on October ?,
with some. Cokes, apples and a
hammer being taken.
Other reported incidents includ-
ed; the theft of a blue. Western
Flyer. 24-inch girl's bicycle, with
a basket, from the home of Mary
Kuykendall. 310 SW 12th Street;
the theft of a starter, generator,
distributor, fan belt -and wiring
from a 26f. Chevrolet motor on

John Murdock. 31, has been hir-
ed as a patrolman by the Semi-
nole- Police Department, Chief of
Police M. W.. Caddis announced.-

Items taken in the theft at the
Midway Gin include; one 17-inch,
grey, table-model Zenith television
receiver: . one brown Dearborn
stove; one 50-foot steel tape; one;
50-foot extension cord; one vise.
Also, one set Powercraft Cl-
inch. drive wrenches: one set Pow-
ercraft box-end wrenches; and
three 12-in.ch; one 15-inch; ones
10-inch ;one 18-incii' and one 36-
inch stillscin wrenches; all brand-
ed with a "Y."
One blower; one hand s|jk: one
hack saw; and the following Povy-
orcVjtiQ- tools-;- -one-set each of ' i-
inch, 3/8-inch and 1-inch 'socket
wrenches: and one set of open
end wrenches, 7/i6-ineh to 114-
inch sizes.
